Creature destroy versus Hexproof

If I cast Carnage Tyrant and before spell resolves onto the battlefield can an opponent cast Hero's Downfall and destroy creature even though it has hexproof?

Hero's Downfall can't interact with anything on the stack. When a spell or ability refers to a game object by only a type it is talking about a permanent of that type. On the stack cards are "TYPE spell", in all zones besides the battlefield and stack they are "TYPE card". Since Hero's Downfall only says "creature or planeswalker" and doesn't say "spell" or "card" it can only target a creature or planeswalker that is on the battlefield. Since Carnage Tyrant will have hexproof on the battlefield, it can not be targeted by Hero's Downfall .

If a card can target a creature spell hexproof doesn't do anything on the stack. Gladecover Scout could be countered by Bone to Ash . Venser, Shaper Savant could return a spell Carnage Tyrant to hand, but not a permanent one.

there is no creature to destroy until the spell resolves. before that it is only a spell. spells aren't creatures or planeswalkers, so they can't be destroyed by cards that affect those things. they can be countered, but you don't care about that.. you're playing Carnage Tyrant XD he can't be countered either.

Things that can disrupt a Carnage Tyrant off the top of my head.. Unsubstantiate but only whien you cast it, while it's still a spell, before it's a creature. once it's on the board it has hexproof and it's too late for them. Ashiok's Erasure but again only at that exact time you cast it.. Ashiok's Erasure can't target anything on the board though, unlike how Unsubstantiate can hit creatures. Wrath of God will kill a Carnage Tyrant and so will Final Judgement or Settle the Wreckage .
