Green draw in the current standard?

Standard forum

I'm in the works of a mono-green, but it just runs out of steam too quickly. I may wind up splashing blue for Prime Speaker Zegana and Give / Take , but I would like to keep the mono color. I've scoured the internet, but I only find cards in Modern format.

This section should be for rules questions. Deck help or Standard forums are where you want to be looking (as it stands, there's a Green Draw discussion already active in deck help right now)

Oh, I didn't realize there were different sections. I guess I need to pay more attention, sorry

I did a quick search for green cards in Standard that use the word "draw". All It came up with was Nylea's Presence and Warriors' Lesson .

Q&A is for rules questions only. Epochalyptik can move this to the relevant sub-forum for you.

Green really doesn't have much in the way of card draw right now. Garruk, Caller of Beasts is pretty good, though he is a 6 drop. Remember that you can always search gatherer for color, format, and rules text all at once, though all that turns up for mono-green is Nylea's Presence and Warriors' Lesson .

Epochalyptik should be here soon to move this.

Well I went to post it in the forums, then found a question on the same topic, is there a way I can just delete this question here?

No, I think Epochalyptik can though. He's basically the head mod around here.

I've noticed his name all over the place, he's very respectable... Moderator. Not entirely sure if it is a he or a she o.O

(Just my guess) 90% of the people on this site are male. If you're ever in doubt, call somebody "he."

Pretty sure Epoch is a guy, get's referred to as male all the time and hasn't tried to put a stop to it as far as I know. We could ask. Like Matsi883 (I like the reasonably sized font BTW), I usually assume people on here are male, unless they have a name like Femme_Fatale or something.

To the original question: yes, Garruk is pretty much the only card draw for mono-green. You could splash red for Domri or blue for Prime Speaker (or other things) though.

Commune with the Gods is a budget option for some selective draw. But Garruk, Caller of Beasts is a boss if you have the manna ramp to play out your hand after you draw off of him. Makahito Mahara used 4 of them in his top 8 pro tour Theros deck. It was basically mono-green with splash red for Domri Rade and Xenagos, The Reveler

Outside of planeswalkers and the above, Warriors' Lesson potentially gets you to draw two cards. Its not really the most competitive card. But it is green and does draw without splashing other colors or using planeswalkers that I know of.

Mind putting up the deck list?

First things first, Warriors' Lesson is fantastic if you are running Nylea, God of the Hunt With her giving creatures tramples you get 2 cards for 1 mana. It's even better if the top of your curve are cards like Staunch-Hearted Warrior and Centaur Battlemaster because it also goes double heroic trigger. Else wise it also works great on other tramplers.

Depends on the build though, sometimes splashing is just the way to go. There isn't much else in standard though. Here's crossed Born of Gods has something good.

If you're looking for something like Harmonize then you won't find it EVER again in print lol.

Wish they would though...it would bring more players to using mono green or green beatdown decks again
