He exiles cards, which gets rid of options for your opponents, which is nice. Extra mana is always nice. But as a one of he's not gonna do a lot. At most you get lucky and exile a win con. Also for him to be good early game, you are gonna want to be mana ramping.
I think he'd be a little underwhelming. Of course you could put him in a blink deck and keep blinking him to exile multiple times.

personally, I love him. he's a really solid body with some ramp and possible removal of good stuff.

It's kinda on topic. Oblivion Sower is best utilized in an Oona build.

Oblivion Sower can take lands from exile regardless of whether or not it was the one that exiled them. So it compounds with Oona, and other exile effects, quite well. It's absolutely on topic.

Pretty sure casting him free off of animar if is the ideal. That said i don't think it's the best thing to be doing.

I'll be running it in my Tasigur deck when I get a chance to get a copy. Leyline of the Void, Tormod's Crypt, Bojuka Bog, &c. in a Mill deck is perfect for this guy.

If you think of it like a 6 mana Explosive Vegetation with a 5/8 body its pretty good. I think some nongreen decks will want this. I personally won't be running it because it isn't actually guaranteed to ramp you, and I like consistency. Plus, at six mana I would want to be doing more than ramping. High cost ramp spells should be like Boundless Realms.
In a deck with more exile support, this can become a powerhouse, ramping you 6+ lands at a time. Too bad it doesn't work with Deadeye Navigator.

Even without abusing it, I run it in Lili's Revelation. The chance for ramp is tempting. Plus disrupting top 4 is pretty good.

I would if you have a commander that puts anything into exile, like Jeleva or Oona, for example. Another reasonable inclusion is for any mill deck or other type of deck that is playing ~15 cards that can exile cards from the graveyard or library. Without those two criteria, I just don't see it as amazing as it needs to be.

I cast oblivion sower with valakut and prismatic omen on the field. Opponent had a big exile pile.

I want to build a "new eldrazi" deck with Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge at the helm. I think it could work really well.
Or at least be fun and stupid.
Meaning, I'd put the Sour in the deck. :p

Oblivion Sower could have some use if you can steal a valuable land, but you also can't use that color if it isn't in your commander colors, so it would be colorless. That and he is expensive for a gamble with minimal payoff.
But Void Winnower is where its at.
