LollipopKing, the Basic Forest is most likely there to have an extra land, but still leave Tainted Pact active.

It's mainly to have the option to fetch a basic early against Blood Moon decks. Basic Forest helps us operate under that kind of effect by casting removal, win-conditions (mainly Druid's Repository, in that context) or mana dorks.

Thanks Pongo. Have you found this to be worth doing? What are the main blood moon decks you run into besides bloodpod?

I regularly play against Blood Pod, Teferi and Jhoira with lots of Blood Moon and Back to Basics effects.

ok, i did some more testing. the problem mentioned here of people having too many creatures out blocking our sweet worrior queen is a real one. my cEDH meta is full of partner flash/hulk, yisan, partner bloodpod, gitrog. and it gets way worse once i show up on 75%+ tables. to combat those i added Stonf. mythic, sword of f'n'f and jitte. while it slows down our win a lot, it at least allows us to win through a stack'd board at all. i'll board them out if i'm against zur, JVP, CVT or whatever. but in my experience those cards need to be maindeck'd

Thanks for the awesome primer. I'm new to cedh and this deck really caught my eye with playing a lot of my favorite cards. Slowly piecing it together while I try to form a local cedh group. Just wanted to show some appreciation. Thanks again.

Hey there, I am doing a bit of research on The more competitive decks out there for my Stax deck.

  • So the first question is: what kind of "Stax" or "Hate cards" would shut this deck down or make it impossible for you to win under certain singular or combined Effects?

  • And the second question is about Sanctum Prelate as I am trying to gather as much information about the stopping power of calling specific CMC with this card vs certain strategies, Would you consider CMC , or CMC to be more effective here to disrupt your gameplan?

Blind obedience and autorithy of the consuls are imo the best way to shut najeela down. @kiyomei

BattousaiYngwie That's not really a real Stax piece ;). neither does one of them shut the deck down I'd rather hear from the creator no offense but he understands what he has made way better :). I mean for the infinite combat phases a good old enchantment removal or just removing the commander is pretty logic but I'm looking for more In-Depth interactions or cards the owner of the deck actually has had troubles with...

BattousaiYngwie Authority of the Consuls and Blind Obedience do nothing to her tokens as they already come in tapped and attacking. The life gain doesn't even doesn't Authority as you still loose to infinite combat steps

I feel Sol Ring is a bit too slow in this particular deck. We don't run a lot of 2 colorless CMC+.

@Eternal Soldier, It enables turn two Najeela, which is a key part of the game plan. Meanwhile it does so while being ambivalent as to mana colour on turn 1, which makes it a safer turn 2 Najeela than a green dork

February 5, 2019 8:39 p.m.

Now that the list runs Lab Maniac, perhaps Thought Lash would be good to the deck?

February 10, 2019 11:26 p.m.

Also since I don't have OG duo lands, should I run Fast Lands or Check Lands?

February 10, 2019 11:30 p.m.

Moesis says... #15

@ EternalSoldier i run 10 fetches, 10 shocks, 5 rainbowlands, couple battlebond lands, couple painlands. works pretty well if you balance the battlebond/pain -lands around your specific color requirements

Thank you so much for this build!

This deck just won me 1st place at one of Anchorage, Alaska's premiere EDH tournaments where I won a UMA Cavern of Souls, even without Dark Confidant, Imperial Seal, and all the crazy expensive lands!!!!

Is green Green Sun's Zenith worth a slot? I've done a bit of testing and it seems to work nicely as a ramp spell grabbing a dork or as a tutor derevi straight to the battlefield.

And impressive foiling, but you missed 1. The judge promo cradle is foil.

February 25, 2019 1:45 p.m.

Omnisurge

I don't own a foil Cradle, unfortunately. :(

Green Sun's Zenith is a fine include but I've never personally found myself really wanting it.

So after about 7 games where the queen has been a tree or spending time in the moon with emrakul, I'm not 100% sure what the best way of dealing with that is, is it better to hold back a turn and keep counter magic up to protect her or is the right move to slot in some protection such as Lightning Greaves or Spellskite ? Or both?

March 1, 2019 7:11 p.m.

Omnisurge

If your meta is that hostile against Najeela herself you can definitely sandbag her a turn to make sure you have protection. Alternatively, you can consider running a bit of extra removal to deal with annoying enchantments like that. It's pretty easy to punish people playing that kind of reactive gameplan with inefficient answers such as those since you are usually able to bounce their aura end of turn and follow it up by going off on your own turn using a minimal boardstate win-con like Nature's Will.

You can also simply take Lab Man + Consult lines!

Hello! What you think about Sygg, River Cutthroat there? In theory, that's one more Minblade Render with few relative pros and cons.

March 3, 2019 1:26 p.m.

AvoiDFaTE

I’ve actually considered Sygg. It’s not exactly Mindblade Render given that it isn’t a warrior but it definitely seems fine as an additional draw engine.

Currently I’m testing Compost which does a lot of work, but I might give Sygg a shot at some point.
