Love the deck list! Made me add Reconnaissance to my decklist Vampire Edgar EDH. Would love your input on my list, see if you recommend adding or removing anything.

Cool list! That Scapegoat is great tech to redeploy and getting more tokens. Feel free to check my hyper aggro version out. +1.

Last_Laugh would this planswalker Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord work in the commander deck

@SirChris39 - He feels kinda slow. His +1 only affects 1 creature, his minus is Lightning Helix with a forced sac, and his 'ult' wants big vamps to actually get a discount (which this deck doesn't really run).

@Enral - I've never used Scapegoat expressly for the purpose of getting more tokens (granted it works). I've always used it as an anti-wrath measure that works against tuck, exile, sacrifice, and -X-X boardwipes. I'd rather eat a personal Evacuation than end up in topdeck mode post wrath. This deck dies quick if you can't recover.

I'm glad to say that Scapegoat is insane last night. I'm able to save my creatures from boardwipes one game and able to bounce and redeploy a bunch of vamps to kill the table with purphoros the other game. Definitely the MVP of the deck.

Enral - Yeah, with only 1 white mana open you can actually bait boardwipes. With 1 white mana people assume you left it up for Path/Swords, Enlightened Tutor, etc. and they think a wipe is going to leave you without a hand to play with. They don't expect a 1 mana answer to their wipes that leaves you with a full grip of cards (and when they do get used to it... they second guess themselves constantly lol).

How about Vanquisher's Banner? It's been a workhorse for me.

Last_Laugh I do appreciate your insight and will consider the contributions on my current Edgar build, thank you

Also, why did you retire your build?

Crap hit the fan and I needed the money. I also sold a very competitive Narset Turns list at that time (Narset, American Beauty). At both of my LGS the regulars wouldn't play me unless I was putting some cocky trash talker in their place (At that point they thought it was funny).

I try to update both lists with cards that're obvious includes like Cordial Vampire. Strange thing is, without any emotional attachment it's a lot easier to cut cards and look at things objectively lol.

Sorry to hear that, all us vampires should chip in and crowd fund you getting your deck back! Sounds like the people at your LGS are lame and cowards...

My Narset deck was oppressive and wasn't much fun for me after awhile. I played with myself while my opponents watched for 20 minutes... and I didn't even get paid afterwards.

Hey Last Laugh, I did a lot of changes to my deck and think it's beast mode now lol. I just threw all the tutors and card draw to shrug off board wipes:

I think I should maybe fit in Vampire Nocturnus to end gamea, because he'd have a 70% chance of being on, but thinking maybe I should cut a land for him? Any thoughts?

December 13, 2019 10:10 a.m.

Last_Laugh says... #22

EvilTeaCup - Vampire Nocturnus is pretty dependent on running all your off-color fetches and top of deck tutors for easy 2nd chances to get him active. In 3 colors he's not reliable otherwise.

EvilTeaCup says... #23

I'm playing all the tutors and fetches, and also necropotence and vicera seer which also combos with nocturnus, and my deck is 70% black. Do you think I can swing it, or maybe I'd be forced to make suboptimal tutor decisions? Having to keep some fetches up might be a pain, I can see that. My gut says I can have him online a fair amount of the time, but I don't know what the cut is to be honest. My deck is extremely dependent on getting a lot of black sources, while still trying to have enough red and white sources -- so I'm not sure I can cut a land. I cut Goblin Wardrums for Ad Nauasuem, but maybe I should fit goblin wardrums in before nocturnus except that I already have a god that I can get with all my tutors that gives menace.

EvilTeaCup that is how i have my edgar deck with fetch lands and Tutors

December 13, 2019 7:10 p.m.

Great edgar deck! What are your thoughts on Obelisk of Urd ? Usually able to convoke it out with summoning sick vampires for pretty cheap. I'm also playtesting Embereth Skyblazer , as it can be a nice buff as well. I'd like to hear your feedback on my list if you have a chance. I'm looking at making room for reconnaissance but not sure what to cut.
