Zombie Copter? —Oct. 16, 2016
Alright guys so after awhile of playing with this deck I have decided this, the control cant be the main objective of the deck. At some FNM's the deck just dominated while at others I simply never won because I ran out of steam and didnt have a consistent creature base to fuel my vehicles. So I added 2 new creatures to the race team, Dhund Operative and Shamble Back. The first is a 2 mana 3/2 (If there is an artifact on the field) and the second is 1 mana to create a 2/2 and give you some life gain! Just buckle your zombie into a copter and let him get those brains!
I believe it's all standard. The pictures that are being shown of Grasp of Darkness and Turn Aside are old printings, but have been re released in the latest blocks.
Obviously his land cards are hilariously old.
The rest of the stuff is all Kaladesh.

Slade_Excalibur I am not sure what your question is, if what you mean is the older cards, it because they have been reprinted in sets that are standard I am just using the older version of the cards? not sure if that answers your question.

Why don't you use the latest printings so tappedout doesn't say you have 43 illegal cards

Slade_Excalibur The cards are Illegal because they are in Kaladesh which releases Friday, so they are illegal as of now. If you would like I can link you to the standard legal list. None of the older cards that I used are in the illegal section, absolutely none of them. You should look at the sidebar next time.

Lupine Prototype can crew all your vehicles for 2 mana.

Wurmlover So originally I had Lupine Prototype but I replaced him with Scrapheap Scrounger specifically because he is also 2 mana, he can crew everything in this deck AND he can be brought back to the battlefield from the graveyard for making him significantly better than lupine as he can also attack.

I also like the Scrapheap Scrounger, because he has no limitations on attacking, like the Lupine Prototype.

This is a great deck. Really fun to play (I've been playtesting it against my son). Thumbs up! I may have to sleeve this up for week 1 as it's my favorite standard deck i've come across so far. kudos.

bunnyplasm2 Thank you! Im glad you like it, I think its a lot more fun then R/W Vehicles due to the control portion. Good luck at FNM!

This is super clever, I love the creature synergy, it is an interesting take on control. +1

Went 3-1 with this last night. Only my own son beat me with a great GW tokens deck. The best moment for me was when I used a copter to crew the skyship. Lots of fun. Thanks!

I don't think Dramatic Reversal is worth a spot in this deck.

It's funny. I thought the same thing, so I took it out, but then there were a few times at FNM when I wished i still had it in there.

Interesting deck, very cool idea.
Just was curious, why don't you play Chief of the Foundry instead of Scrapheap Scrounger? Is it cost? I imagine getting scrounger out for 1 is amazing. Just dislike the "unable to block" aspect.

Brofessor_X The reason for Scrapheap Scrounger is the ability to return him to the battlefield late game if my vehicle crews get taken out by a fumigate or by a couple Declaration in Stone's or Grasp of Darkness's I can easily bring him back and a crew ANYTHING in the deck. He is so valuable because of that and it also cost no more then what it cost to cast it originally. The +1/+1 is great but I just dont have any room for him.

That's fair! Luckily Dec in Stone wont work unless you block with the vehicles on your turn. Unfortunately, things like Fragmentize are a nightmare.

Beat me to the punch with this idea and honestly, way better than I could have even imagined with the Night Market Lookout. 1 copy of Inventor's Fair perhaps?

Nice job.
I just played in a pre-release over the weekend, and had 2x of the Night Market Lookouts in my deck. I messed up w/him tho, thinking I had to attack to benefit from his tapping...DOHT. Rookie error. I like where you're going with a different color vehicle deck than said R/W's that are flooding it out there. I was thinking a G/B vehicle deck as well, since there are a couple small green creatures that could drive...Wily Bandar is who I mean, and he has an ok ability. Also, Appetite for the Unnatural for some sideboard removal in my G/B deck.
But, seeing this deck, makes me realize Night Market Lookouts an even better "crew member", tap to have him pilot the Smuggler's Copter, do your 1 damage for the tap, gain the one for life, and swing with the copter.
Unfortunately, I only pulled one vehicle in my packs, and it wasn't worth running.
Smugglers Copter is going to be nasty, and I can see that card just going thru the roof, price wise. Skysovereign, Consul Flagship may be a great way to finish it up if you can find room for it. It does a nice bit of damage coming in, can use that towards a planes walker, and if you bounce it like Siege Rhino could give people headaches.
