Mainboard Edits —July 31, 2015

After some thought I've decided to try the following changes:

-1 Mountain, -1 Stoke the Flames, +2 Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip

Almost every game I found myself with too much land on the field. I'm going to try running 22 and see how that feels. The original idea was that Outpost Siege would allow me to cut the land count down from my original starting point of 24 because of the amount of lands you are able to find once that card is on the battlefield. Soulfire Grand Master's ability requires a lot of lands out, but Pyromancer's Goggles gives you another mana you can work with. Another reason I get more lands out than would suggest from the number of lands in the deck is Abbot of Keral Keep, because he is either finding you a land or filtering towards one.

I took out the 4th copy of Stoke the Flames because I'm not running any token generation and the card is more expensive without that. I opted to run 4 copies of Exquisite Firecraft because it is really strong in the control match up and the card was really powerful every time I drew it.

I'm also debating on taking a copy of Soulfire Grand Master out bringing it down to 3 total. The card is so good though.

I finally get to try Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh  Flip for real now. I'm predicting that she will be very strong in the deck.
