Xenic Poltergeist for all the zero cmc artifacts and copies, Spreading Plague for token decks, Talon of Pain for pinger situations (like Scalding Tongs or Thumbscrews) and Artificer's Hex for all the various pairs of boots people are always throwing around. Just to throw a few out there. OOH! And Iceberg because blue battery-like effects are weird.

(1.) I love this idea. (2.) I’m not sure how many more there are going to be, but you could be a political monster and make people decide who is going to take the damage from the Scalding Tongs in your upkeep. So maybe additional padding from that sort of decision-making permanents.

Lava Dart and Shower of Sparks in my testing have been extremely valuable.
I see the Keldon Megaliths, if this deck goes hellbent Scalding Tongs might be worthwhile.

Just built and started testing Ghyrson out myself.
Get that Lava Dart into the main board. Too much easy value.
Shower of Sparks hidden gem I found digging thru my collection. Double Lightning Bolt for the same cost!

It may be worth considering that the card doesn’t require the loss of life to be because of combat damage. Things like Armageddon Clock and Scalding Tongs (or whatever better versions of those types of cards are out now) could give you a bump regardless of the relative board state.

griffstick you KNOW I love the tablet, why would you not let me be the one to list it!?! ;p Instead of the tablet, then, I would recommend a different favorite from my Torture! deck: Thumbscrews. I’m assuming you’re going to have a full grip, but if you’ve reliably got an empty hand you can go with Scalding Tongs instead. Check out my Torture! deck for more pingers!

They Didn’t Even Ask Any Questions Scalding Tongs , Thumbscrews , Iron Maiden , Wheel of Torture , and Razor Pendulum . Really cement that line between kids/Pokémon and M:tG/high schoolers+. I’d be interested in what art they would choose (though I love most of those cards already) and I could do without WOT’s corny flavor text.
