When Hidetsugu and Kairi enters the battlefield, draw three cards, then put two cards from your hand on top of your library in any order.

When Hidetsugu and Kairi dies, exile the top card of your library. Target opponent loses life equal to its converted mana cost/mana value. If it's an instant or sorcery card, you may cast it without paying its mana cost.

Quickspell on Legend rule and stacking effects

In my Hidetsugu and Kairi combo deck that uses sac-outlets and reanimation spells like Zombify to create a finite but hopefully fatal loop, I want to use Renegade Doppelganger as sort of blue sac-outlet.

Can somebody please confirm if this works:

1. Renegade Doppelganger is on the battlefield.
2. Hidetsugu and Kairi enters the battlefield.
3. The legend rules applies before H&K‘s ETB goes on the stack. I chose to send the original H&K to the graveyard. This triggers it’s dying-ability.
4. Since now the stack is open and the ETB has not yet been placed, I can choose to put the death trigger first and the ETB on top. This would allow me to brainstorm for recursion spells and reanimate H&K, going back to step 1.

I have Hidetsugu and Kairi on the battlefield and cast, say, Clone.

From what I know, this should happen:

1. When Clone enters the battlefield, it’s ETB trigger (that is, the copied Hidetsugu and Kairi’s ETB trigger) would go on the stack. However, before that happens the legendary rule applies as a state-based action.

2. By choice, I send the clone to the graveyard, which will trigger the copied Hidetsugu and Kairi‘s death trigger.

During these events, when do I put the copied ETB trigger on the stack? Before or after the death trigger? I think after, so the ETB would resolve first, but I’m not sure.

ThassaUpYo@ssa any response is always appreciated, please don't apologize. :) I'm glad the suggestions hit home and it reminded me of how great and fun this list was to craft. I also appreciate your commentary about the artifact lands, as well as general deck-tech scheming. I look forward to engaging with you on other lists, or maybe this one again once I've updated for Hidetsugu and Kairi!
