Cathedral Acolyte
Creature — Human Cleric
Each creature you control with a counter on it has ward . (Whenever this creature becomes the target of a spell or ability an opponent controls, counter it unless that player pays .)
: Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature that entered the battlefield this turn.

Jenova's Genetic Modifications

No prob! I started brewing Jenova earlier this year, but eventually turned those brewing efforts into Szarel, Genesis Shepherd. There's def some decent overlap between the two; I even considered Jenova for Szarel's 99. Again, if you don't mind going a bit off theme with your creature base, there are a few more cards that could work well here:
-
Gyre Sage - A bit of redundancy with Incubation Druid.
-
Managorger Hydra - Doesn't take much for it to get big.
-
Cleopatra, Exiled Pharaoh as another potential draw source, especially given the wording for her second ability. Looks like ~16 of your creatures, including Jenova, are Legendary, so ymmv based on that volume.
+1/+1 counters have an overwhelming abundance of support, there's def a lot more that could be worth considering.

I like this idea, depending on how you feel about infinite combos you could run Heliod, Sun-Crowned & Spike Feeder
I also like Attended Healer effects here, they would work really well with Cathars' Crusade
Cathedral Acolyte would also work really well for your counters theme.
Look forward to seeing the deck!
