Just wanted to make a quick thread asking if you all think it is worth it to add black to a Simic +1/+1 counter deck? I'm mostly only considering this because of corpsejacker menace. Is He worth adding black??running master biomancer, primordial hydra type deck

There is so much versatility that you get in black, but The question is if you need it. If the deck is not very fast, then black gives you the cards to beat some more dominatn decks. I know Abrupt Decay deals well with Boros Reckoner which is a huge card in this standard, plus it lets you get the menace like you said. However, the deck doesn;t really get much synergy from black, so It would be only to get the cards you need to compete in standard. If you want to be aggressive, Dreg Mangler is good too.

thanks for the input! Im starting to think that adding just a splash of black for corpsejacker would be the best idea, but at this point I think I need some suggestions on one or two more black cards to add.

I actually made a junk deck that centers around Gyre Sage , Corpsejack Menace , and Gavony Township sort of effects (and of course Primordial Hydra ). Check it out, its a lot of fun and it might give you some ideas:

With the addition of black you get some good scavengers. It also opens you up to the Deathrite Shaman which is a good card all around.
