Thoughts on Smallpox in Modern

I am running a Grixis Deaths Shadow variant and I am curious to know what people think about running Smallpox in a meta full of Tarmogoyf , Gurmag Angler and Snapcaster Mage .
My deck list has a higher mana count than typical grixis deaths shadow builds as well as benefiting from the self inflicted pain given by smallpox.... however I have concerns that maybe I would be helping a lot of common decks out there rather than hindering as planned.
Should I run something else like Night's Whisper or Terminate ?

i personally am not a fan of symmetrical effects, but especially not Smallpox . the opponent will just sacrifice their weakest creature, and discard their least useful card.

I like Smallpox but it works better in decks that don’t win with creatures or have more grave synergy or aren’t trying to cast things with more than 2 colors.
The deck you listed it going in isn’t a particularly good home for it without rethinking the entire deck.
Smallpox is a card that you need to build around since you will run the risk of mana screwing yourself even in monoblack decks and when your primary way to win is creature based you are putting yourself in an awkward spot.

Yeah I think smallpox is great but I think my deck isn't the best home for it.... even against decks that aren't running angler/goyf/snappy it is a bit too tricky to wield in Grixis colors with a creature based wincon.

I totally understand the logic behind this. But Smallpox is sort of one of those niche cards that is fantastic in decks like 8-Rack but in a GDS deck, I wouldn't run it. Maybe sideboard for Bogles

if you don't have Terminate already, you definitely should.
