Tired of fightin'

Fight effects. Every set has a handful, and 0 are constructed playable. I get that they're Green's only removal and decently flavorful, but does anyone else think they're overdone? They put a new spin on them every time, but they never cut it outside of sealed. Seriously, either make a good one or make less :/

Sorry for whine/rant but just sooo sick of them.

braces for incoming defensiveness

Pit Fight sees enough action.

Actually I think Setessan Tactics has seen some monogreen stompy play. They're useful effects, just not as good as real removal spells. Also sometimes limited environments need cards, as they are popular environments.

Was never fond of fighting either I am surprise they have not made a instant speed Prey Upon (Pit Fight does not count) because it definitely needs it but I doubt that would be enough. :P

Okay, Snowstorm, I'll bite, why does it not count? Also, Setessan Tactics is Instant Speed

Basically what I meant was Prey Upon should have been instant speed like Pit Fight but still cost one mana. :3

I think that's the trade-off. Instant speed increases the cost, because it makes it, in essence, instant speed removal. You're never going to cast a fight card unless you (relatively) know the outcome.

Fight Spells are Green's creature control. Kinda like white's exile/attacking or blocking x stuff. It'll always be conditional and the best that color will get. It's certainly better than nothing, as red has no enchantment removal, nor does black. Either would be happy to get some, even still it is what it is.

Personally I find Pit Fight to be awesome-I use it to great effect in edh. But I'll agree that pretty much all the rest are lackluster.

Not trying to come off offensive, but have you played a deck with Setessan Tactics , Jp3ngu1nb0y?

I ran tactics for a while in a couple of my decks and the card was insane. It was and potentially still is constructed-playable, if not constructed-awesome. I'm just curious if you've even given tactics a shot in a deck where you DONT have access to black removal.

Basically agree with everyone else, most are sub par but Setessan Tactics is awesome.

I miss Ulvenwald Tracker .

Getting to untap with one and a Lotleth Troll meant I was going to nuke your entire board.

I don't actually have experience with tactics, but it does look to be the best of them.
