Do You Prefer New Artwork or the Same Artwork on Reprinted Cards?

I saw this post, here, and Mark Rosewater seems to be in favor of reusing artwork on reprints of cards, which I dislike, because I like having a variety of artwork on the cards in my decks (in fact, in each of my decks, no two basic lands ever have the same artwork).

What does everyone else say about this? Do you prefer for reprints of cards to keep previous artwork or have new artwork?

TypicalTimmy, in the games that I play, that rarely ever matters.

Also, how can WotC get away with such a tyrannical business practice, and why would any artist willingly illustrate for them?

That is not a tyrannical practice. It is just like if you were to commision artwork. You would be free to use it as you will since you paid for the artwork to be done for you to use. The artists go in to these commissions knowing that this is the case

I enjoy having different artworks for cards; in fact, I collect them as they appear. Same with basics, I'm trying to make a binder of every basic land art. Because why not...

I think the coolest art should be reusable for nonlegendaries. I kinda feel like legendaries should always be visually evolving.

TypicalTimmy, if I were an artist, I would illustrate for WotC only as a supplement to my main source of income, which would be original works conceived purely by myself, because, in my mind, the original artist of a work should receive royalties in perpetuity for any product that uses that work (as far as I am aware, musicians receive royalties at any time that movies use their songs in their soundtracks).

Also, I do not have any problem with the same artwork being used two, three, or even four times, but any more than that is ridiculous, with some of the worst offenders in this game being Naturalize , Pacifism , Serra Angel , and Vampire Nighthawk , each of which re-used the same artwork almost a double-digit number of times, which I found to be insanely annoying.

Conversely, Demolish has had so many different artworks that it would be very difficult for me to choose only four, if I had a full playset in a deck.

@DemonDragonJ: I don't know why you take such issue with Wizards using artwork it owns. Artists understand that Wizards may use their artwork as much as they like. It is a mutual agreement that all parties are satisfied with. If it bothers you that things don't have a lot of artworks, sure, go be bothered. But please don't bother us about it.

Also, your comparison to musicians doesn't line up, because the musicians own their work. Any time their work is used, they get paid because it is their property. While it is your personal belief that it should be done on a royalty system, everyone involved in the production, licensing, use, and printing of the artwork agrees to do it in this manner.
