What are Best Commanders for 5 Player EDH/Commander?

Commander (EDH) forum

As the title suggests I am curious about the best commanders to choose from for 5 player EDH (Star format). But, the rule is I don't want the theme to rely on infinite combos as my group hates those kinds of decks because it really isn't playing socially. Rather it's solitaire and avoiding deck or player interaction.

And so I want to look towards new commanders that are very good and something I have not done yet.

My current favorite is probably Xenagos followed by Captain Sisay (toolbox). I have also played Slivers, Phenax, Ephara, Karametra, and a few others.

Thanks in advance!

For commanders that I have used, Feldon of the Third Path is one of the best for star. He looks innocuous so people won't actively target you, but then you start resurrecting stuff and it gets out of hand fast. You can also do targeted removal like Spawn of Thraxes rather than wrath effects, thus not messing up your allies as much.

I would also recommend The Mimeoplasm since he is so resilient and can quickly close out games, as well as Merieke Ri Berit for the ability to turn other aggro deck's threats against them. Also its great to steal your allies creatures when they are about to win.

If you are really good at politics, Sen Triplets can be dominating in a multiplayer setting, however, if you aren't so great at politicking, I would stay away because she can also be hated out really early. Riku of Two Reflections is insane in multiplayer, especially with all of the ramp and card draw afforded by being U/G.

It isn't infinite combo and would be great in 5 player, but I feel you are going to say Arcum Dagsson isn't interactive enough since it is hard control that races out the control pieces using a tutor.
