Commanderless artifact deck help

I would like to build a deck that's artifact heavy but doesn't rely on its commander for anything other than a small boon. This, however, has proved challenging..
Without having the commander to build the deck around, it feels like a daunting task and I don't really know where to start.
What commander should I run that plays well with the deck but isn't necessarily important to my victory?
My current two commanders are Arcum Dagsson and Daretti, Scrap Savant but by this point most people have figured out that their decks tend to falter without them... I'd like to build a deck that works with a similar mechanic to the two, (saccing artifacts for profit) and maybe include them as part of the 99.
Right now my current pics for commander are the following
Nekusar and Lord look like the best options so far because they give me access to black and function as wonderful hate magnets.

I'm actually considering Nekusar, the Mindrazor, it would give me access to both of my favorite commanders as part of the 99 and he works as a decent hate magnet.

I was going to suggest Sharuum the Hegemon or Oloro, Ageless Ascetic.
The Sharuum decks I've seen mostly operate without her, until they are ready to combo out or are desperate. She has a lot of strong artifact interactions too that seem suited.
Oloro decks I've seen often don't play him at all. Keeping their source of constant lifegain where nobody can stop it often is important to them. He doesn't have any special artifact affinity though.

Memnarch. you build a blue/artifact shell that works on its own and from time to time (when you hit infinite
for example) you cast your general and steal all the things. the rest of the time it plays like a blue control/combo deck with artifact ramp
