One of the abilities I noticed while trying to come up with a new Pauper deck was Modular. There were only 4 Common cards that had the ability, but as long as there was another artifact creature on the field, the counters could still be saved. Verdant Automaton could generate it's own counters, and Workshop Assistant can bring a Modular back from the grave. Snake Umbra supplies card draw and takes a bullet, Forced Adaptation generates counters turn after turn, but Rancor makes this deck, supplying the trample needed to cause some real damage. Draw Soul's Might after that, and it's lights out.
