Multiple changes after thorough trial-and-error —May 15, 2019

After trying out the deck for several weeks now (both in arena and in paper), several small changes needed to be done to increase the effectivity of the deck, specially against the current meta.

Changelog: - Sleep has been added to the sideboard. It works great against aggro creature decks - two extra copies of Aid the Fallen have been added to the mainboard in place of Devious Cover-Up. Aid the Fallen costs two less to cast and is more consistent - Doom Whisperer has been added to the mainboard. The creature itself is pretty useless, but you can abuse of its ability to potentially mill a lot - Wall of Lost Thoughts has been moved from the sideboard to the mainboard. It has just as much milling potential as Stitcher's Supplier used to have, on the exception that Wall of Lost Thoughts is a blue spell, so it plays well with Drowned Secrets

True. Never been good with mill decks.

That being said, why use Arclight Phoenix when you could use Doom Whisperer ? If you mill it, its useless, but you can always return it with other spells, and if you run 4, there is still a good chance you will draw at least one.

Because what if your opponent plays Unmoored Ego or Ixalan's Binding on your Jace? Your mill is now useless.

Arclight Phoenix provides a secondary win condition that provides a lot of value if milled and doesn't depend on Jace actually working. It's a plan B in case plan A gets hard removed. Doom Whisperer can't do that as effectively

i think adding a Blast Zone or two to the main board should prove beneficial , i tested out on arena (cuz i didnt have evolving wilds) and i think its a solid pull against games that take longer than needed and where threats exist that you cant deal with mainboard

So, About the Arclight... There are only 16 Instant/Sorcery cards in the deck. Some of which most likely will have been milled. Seems like being able to actually trigger the return effect by playing 3+ I/S cards during 1st main might be a tad hard. How is this actually working out? Has it worked in an actual game?

Arclight has been working so far, since some of those I/S cards have jump-start and Dazzling Lights can also be put from the sideboard into the deck to help trigger those phoenix. They have been really helpful in arena, although an effective alternative that i'm still testing is Thief of Sanity . (It's also a less expensive card) I'm still comparing how effective they are against each other, but both seem very solid as an alternative wincon. I'll keep you updated

Do you have this in paper? Or just BO1 Arena?

In my version I use Finale Of Revelation as well as jace, of course mine is green blue, but you think that'd work?
