Some updates! —March 5, 2018
I've added Gilt-Leaf Palace and Hanweir Battlements Meld for more locations. Sylvan Library and Rhystic Study for some more draw. Which seemed justifyable as Gandalf does go to the library to study up on the ring before coming back to Frodo. Last but certainly not least.. I forgot about the eagles.. so Battleflight Eagle it is!
I removed some tutors and signets to make room, because this fits the story better and we don't really need tutors to look things up for the win.
Maybe Sygg, River Cutthroat makes for a good Gollem. He also has an uncorrupted version Sygg, River Guide and both look nice and fishy. Moreover the art of the River Guide fits the story of Gollem's childhood.

I couldn't think of someone so didn't cast anyone for Gollum.. but Sygg, River Cutthroat could work! The flavor-text fits and it helps with draw.

There's actually a perfect card for Smaug. Hellkite Tyrant! This dragon, much like Smaug, is collecting all the bling. He's also a very awkward win-con. But the flavor alone shuld make him an include!

Also: Whispersilk Cloak. It makes the wearer invisble, just like Frodo's Cloak :)

Wasn'the that another story? Harry Potter perhaps. Bilbo and Frodo become invisible when they put on The Ring ;)

Very nice suggestions yeah but I think the cloak is from Harry Potter, smaug.. I might, but I feel he is more represented in the Hobbit and not so much in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Benalish Commander could fill the role of both Eomer and the riders of Rohan quite nicely. He...1. creates human tokens to make an army2. shows up after a little while - X should always be 3 for flavour

Ezuri, Renegade Leader literally looks exactly like Elrond! And he's an elf!
