In anticipation of Omnath 2.0's introduction... —Sept. 29, 2015

The upcoming release of Battle for Zendikar and that kickass new Omnath have me practically giddy. But more specifically, it's prompted me to retire a card that I'm quite fond of, namely Rubblebelt Raidersfoil. As much as I love that card, it relies too much on other factors to be a credible threat, and it really doesn't do anything besides turn sideways and thereby get larger (well, it also helps with devotion, but there are lots of games where that doesn't ever matter because I don't draw those cards).

So instead I'm running another 4-drop: Oracle of Mul Dayafoil, which should play very nicely with the new Omnath, and just the rest of the deck in general because ramp. I've also swapped out Crater Hellion for Caldera Hellionfoil, as the Echo cost was awkward enough that it almost always wound up just being a sorcery that might get to block before my next turn started because hell if I'm paying twice, and scaling back the damage by 1 also neatly avoids nuking some of my quite powerful utility creatures and straight-up bombs while still being a rather useful amount of damage.

I just spent half an hour reading through your entire deck description, accordions and everything. I deserve some kind of award. In all seriousness though, I love RT decks, and yours is one of the best I've ever seen. Though I do have one question that's almost unrelated: Do you actually own all of these cards in foil? Especially that foil Scourge of the Throne. I mean damn, that's almost my entire Standard deck for one card. In any case, +1 for sure. Great deck.

@canterlotguardian - The answer to your question is yes, I own all the cards in this deck that I have marked as foil in foil for reals, even the Scourge of the Throne (the latest addition to the collection, it is so pretty). I've actually got the deck to the point now where there's only 4 cards left in it that aren't foil now but could be, and all of them are lands (that are all also expensive, or they would already be foil).

I'm holding off replacing those particular cards at least until Battle for Zendikar is released though, the possibility of just lucking into one of the ones I need in a full-art foil would certainly be nice.

I love the deck! I love the explanation! And most of all I love your hatred for Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger! This sentiment is shared between us. +1

What do you think of Nissa, Vastwood Seer  Flip and Omnath, Locus of Rage for your deck?

@snotice - new Nissa (or possibly Chandra) is something I've contemplated, being able to get another planeswalker into the deck without reducing my creature count would be neat, but I'm not really sure what I would cut for her.

The new Omnath is absolutely going into the deck when the set comes out, that was a foregone conclusion the day he was spoiled.

That's how I feel about the new Omnath! It is a beautiful card! ;)

Yeah, it looks like you have some thinking to do on that end with Nissa and/or possibly Chandra.
