Waste not + traumatize?
Asked by Clutch7243 10 years ago
I have a friend telling me that Traumatize + Waste Not wouldn't work together because discard and discard from the top of your opponents library are 2 different functions, therefor it wouldn't work together. This didn't happen in a game, just talking about the synergy of cards, however I did just order some of both so I'd like to know if they would work together or not.

Would you happen to know of any decent cards besides Duress and Mindrot that would work with Waste Not?

Not the place for card recommendations, if you want those you should make a thread in an appropriate forum. I'll give you this one for free though: Whispering Madness.

That is getting into deck help category, but you want massive draw and discard cards. Dark Deal is the best card for that archetype currently available. If you splash other colors, Burning Inquiry is good in red, Careful Consideration, Reckless Scholar, Wistful Thinking, Lore Broker, Whispering Madness, Magus of the Jar in blue. The other colors do not get good effects to abuse waste not.

Your friend is correct.
Discard means to put cards from your hand into your graveyard. Traumatize puts cards from the deck into the library, informally reffered to as "milling". They are two distinct things and there is no interaction between traumatize and waste not.
