How to Handle Multiple 'Infinite' Boardstates

Asked by Delphen7 1 year ago

Player A has Spike Feeder and Heliod, Sun-Crowned.

Player B is playing eggs, and has managed to reach the point where they can loop Pyrite Spellbomb (via Faith's Reward, multiple Lotus Bloom, and Conjurer's Bauble)

Anytime Player B can put a lethal Spellbomb trigger on the stack, Player A can respond by gaining more life. Since both players are technically advancing their boardstates, but the game is going nowhere, what happens?

Active player has to make a different decision. So player B needs to win on player A's turn.

726.3. Sometimes a loop can be fragmented, meaning that each player involved in the loop performs an independent action that results in the same game state being reached multiple times. If that happens, the active player (or, if the active player is not involved in the loop, the first player in turn order who is involved) must then make a different game choice so the loop does not continue.
