Does Nevermore stop Ghor-Clan?

Asked by capriom85 12 years ago

If I cast Nevermore , naming Ghor-Clan Rampager , does it stop my opponent not only from casting the card, but also from using it to blood-rush an attacking creature?

Also, is there any way to combat blood-rushed creatures outside of instand speed removal or something like Cyclonic Rift or Azorius Charm ?

No, Nevermore only prevents a card from being cast. Bloodrush is not casting that card, it is simply an ability word that the card possesses.

I'm not sure about your second question. You can combat blood-rushed creatures in all the same ways you combat normal creatures. Instant-speed removal, blockers, other abilities of permanents that deal damage, prevent damage, remove creatures from combat. The only thing special about a bloodrushed creature is that it tends to have higher power and toughness.

Bloodrush is an activated ability, activating that ability will not be prevented by Nevermore

Pithing Needle could deal with it, but it's not often you'd want to use that one a creature.

Activated abilities can deal with it, Maze of Ith will prevent all the damage. Fog or effects that do the same (Moment's Peace Holy Day ) is also instant speed but doesn't remove the creature.
