Pioneer - Help Updating Deck

Pioneer Deck Help forum

Hey y'all! I'm looking for input/assistance for a pioneer deck. Pioneer is the preferred 60-card format at my LGS, and as such I'd like to get into the format since I want to start playing competitively again and they do not have any cEDH tournaments. I absolutely adored mono-green stompy during the Kaladesh/Amonkhet/Ixalan/Dominaria standard, and as such I'd like to build a mono-green stompy/aggro deck based on the one that was popular during that time. I have a decklist, however I'd like help updating it and adapting it to the current general metagame since I have absolutely zero experience with the format. I've done zero research on the meta at my LGS and as such would like just a general "one size fits all" kind of approach to the deck at the moment and tune it at a later point in time once I have some games under my belt. Here is the decklist of what I brewed a couple years ago: [Pioneer] Mono-G Stompy

Really the only requirements I have is that the deck must have Steel Leaf Champion and Rhonas's Monument since I love those two cards. I know that the Rhonas's Monument in particular doesn't really see play, but I love it and want to play it.

Appreciate y'all!

It sounds like you might be able to build your deck in a Green Devotion build... I will check out your deck but I will leave this Green Devotion link so you can see what the competitive players are doing with that shell.

It looks like they're using lots of planeswalkers. I'm not too keen on planeswalkers and don't really like them to be honest. I'd rather not run them if I could avoid it. Although, the interaction between the sideboard and Karn, the Great Creator is interesting and allows for a lot of utility, it just doesn't seem that fun.

Also, why would people not run something like Utopia Sprawl over Wolfwillow Haven? I get that it has an ability later in the game you can sink mana into, but in my opinion having the cheaper CMC and the possibility to get it out on turn one is far more interesting in my opinion.
