Eldrazi Lineage

Correct me if I am wrong, but there are the three Eldrazi Titans: Emrakul, Kozilek, and Ulamog. From from these three we get the rest of the Eldrazi, drones and spawns.

My question: is there a site or listing of which Eldrazi comes from each Titan?

I don't think there is, but I'd say it's generally fairly obvious just from the way each minor Eldrazi looks. Breaker of Armies is from Ulamog (tentacles, extra arms, and stuff), Deceiver of Form is from Kozilek (spiky things floating above its head), etc.

Well, looks like I have some homework to do.

Yes, those are the 3. I don't know of any list, but here are my observations. Kozilek's are the most obvious, as they have his symbol things above their heads. Ulamog also copies himself in his brood, as many have his tentacle legs and bony, largely unformed head. Emrakul converts life into her image. She mutates other beings on a plane to have tentacles, perhaps fuse together, etc. like what we saw in Eldritch Moon. I can't really speak to their brood's characteristics in Rise of the Eldrazi, but their you go

There is a book which I have called the Art of Magic the Gathering Zendikar which goes over The key characteristics of the 3 eldrazi broods. (as well as a lot of other awesome stuff about Zendikar.)

Ulamog's brood has mask like growths on their "faces" multiple limbs masses of tentacles for legs.

Kozilek's brood are covered in hard shiny carapaces usually have obsidian "crowns" floating above their heads and have large numbers of eyes at random locations like joints and such.

And Emrakul's brood tends to appear similar to native species (as they are converted into her brood) and have fleshy latices covering their bodies as well as a general coloration similar to that of Emrakul.

Also, these are only the three known Titans; the three imprisoned on Zendikar by Ugin, Sorin, and Nahiri. It has not been confirmed nor denied that more Titans might exist elsewhere in the multiverse.

kanokarob you make an excellent notion. We do not know if there are more. Yet, I wonder what more representation there can be outside of the three in hunger, destruction, and creation outside of the natural order of life.

Well today I am going to take time to create three lists and to the best of my ability list all the Eldrazi under their respected titan. if I have undetermined ones then I may post them for aid.

Also, Devoid eldrazi are Ulamog's spawn and colorless mana means Kozilek's brood

windlnk says... #10

No that isn't how it works the aformentioned Breaker of Armies is colorless not devoid but is very much Ulamog's brood and creatures like Blinding Drone and Havoc Sower are devoid but of Kozilek's lineage. The requirements to cast the eldrazi have no correlation to which titan they are a part of.

filthyc4sual says... #11

Yeah, it isn't exclusive, but if you see devoid it's from Ulamog's brood, etc. That doesn't mean it has to have devoid to be from Ulamog's brood.

windlnk says... #12

Okay i get what you are saying a little better now and you are right any card that has in it's mana cost for casting or in it's abilities is Kozilek's brood.

Still though the Devoid keyword is used by both broods so it shouldn't be used to determine lineage.

Any from Eldritch Moon are Emrakul.

Any from BFZ block that don't have Kozilek's plates above their heads are Ulamog.

Benthic Infiltrator, Brood Butcher, Conduit of Ruin, Cryptic Cruiser, Drowner of Hope, Eyeless Watcher, Oblivion Sower, Vile Aggregate and Wasteland Strangler are Ulamog

Slaughter Drone, Stalking Drone and Walker of the Wastes are Kozilek

Nest Invader looks like Emrakul but I'm not completely sure.

The others I think are Ulamog but I'm not sure

Ulamog's brood is: Benthic Infiltrator, Conduit of Ruin, Cryptic Cruiser, Drowner of Hope (as it is said in many places that Ulamogs brood moves through water easily.), Eyeless Watcher, Oblivion Sower, Ruination Guide, Vile Aggregate. and Wasteland Strangler (look to the left of the creature and you can see it's mask), I am also fairly certain that Brood Butcher is a part of Ulamogs brood as well.

Kozilek's lineage is: Dimensional Infiltrator, Immobilizer Eldrazi(note the eyes), Slaughter Drone(also has eyes on joints), Stalking Drone, and Walker of the Wastes.

Nest Invader is the only member of Emrakul's brood in the list here.

A good mechanical rule-of-thumb: Anything with Ingest is Ulamog, and anything that references is Kozilek
