Why Tarfire ?

I see it used in Goblin aggro builds but not use why unless some of the creatures let you put into your hand off a Goblin Matron ?

Your wording is a little screwy, but I'll try to help you out.

Tarfire sees fringe Legacy play in Goblins list because you can grab it with Goblin Ringleader and Goblin Matron . As far as I can tell, it's not hugely popular. It makes opponents' Tarmogoyf s bigger (tribal is a card type) and it's weaker than Lightning Bolt .

Tarfire is important because it kills off Deathrite Shaman s and Dark Confidant s that like to get in the way of Goblin Lackey . Personally, I prefer Warren Weirding since I'm not going to open up on turn one with a burn spell.

@sylvannos: That's more a general argument for burn spells than an argument for Tarfire or Warren Weirding . The former is a gamble because you deal 1 less damage than with Lightning Bolt , and you risk growing an opponent's Tarmogoyf in the process.

The ability to tutor or gain card advantage off of Goblin Ringleader is better than the extra point of damage. Gempalm Incinerator is already the main burn spell in the deck. Tarfire and Warren Weirding are answers to problems as they come up. Singleton Lightning Bolt s just aren't an effective use of deck space.

Gempalm Incinerator actually doesn't target players.

@203995014: I'm aware Gempalm Incinerator doesn't target players. But he deals the damage that kills larger things in the way of Goblin Lackey s and Goblin Piledriver s, like Tarmogoyf . There's usually no reason to play Lightning Bolt s when you already have four Gempalm Incinerator , one to four Tarfire or Warren Weirding , and a quality mana base that allows for better removal. This is all considering you can't tutor for Lightning Bolt the way you can with tribal spells.
