Why is Telepathy not used?!

Telepathy is a totally awesome card. One mana, and your opponents have to show you your hand at all times. Sometimes a game comes down to one wrong move and you lose. Being able to see their hand from turn 1 seems like it would give you a massive advantage. Should I play this? Nope they have a Counterspell so I guess I'll wait until their tapped out. Or I'll play this weaker spell to get rid of it. Totally awesome enchantment so why do I see people using it?
There are better turn 1 plays? Dark Ritual , Thoughtseize , Sol Ring , Deathrite Shaman ... In blue there's Delver of Secrets Flip ...

Why waste one mana when you can just cheat and look at their hand? :)
Seriously though, the problem is that it wastes one turn. If you see a counterspell, they will know that you are probably saving your good and expensive cards for later. Most decks empty their hands relatively quickly anyways, so it becomes useless.

see Gitaxian Probe it cantrips and 7 cards is a majority of cards even over 6 turns.

The problem is not that it wastes a turn, or that it eats a slot in your deck; the problem is that it's card disadvantage; you're spending a card to accomplish essentially nothing.

Pros can accurately guess what's in their opponent's hand anyway.
In seriousness (although that is somewhat true), what everyone else said. It's usually a waste of a card, and there are much better 1-mana plays.

Is this considerable as a one of (if you're already playing gitaxian probe)?

Basically, because it eats a slot in your deck. That could be better used actually furthering your goals. Not to mention running more than one is just begging to have 3 in hand, which is serious card disadvantage.
It's a fun card for casual, but competitively it just doesn't do enough to change a game.
