How does this archetype win/work? I'm not sure I understand. This is what I DO understand:
- You use Stasis and tap spells to lock down your opponents board.
But what I don't get is how Stasis s pay U ability fits into all this. You have to pay U a turn, which means you must tap a land for the mana. Sooner or later you are not going to topdeck a land/you won't have any left to play and Stasis s pay U will catch up to you. You will exile it, your opponent will untap and kill you. I understand that this is a legacy build that (I think) is played somewhat commonly in legacy tournaments (but maybe not :P). So how does this build work? It seems to me like Stasis eventually gets exiled and you will be screwed.
As the creator says, you will eventually mill them out from them being locked down, but it seems like long before that happens Stasis will be exiled. It also seems like kind of a flimsy combo deck, relying all on Stasis and a tapdown effect.
Forgive me if I'm missing something obvious here, as I'm pretty tired ;).

@buffy: the player will either bounce Forsaken City to pay for it each turn, or will skip their next turn with Chronatog which will become a 4/5.

It should be noted that Stasis is sacrificed - not exiled - if its upkeep cost is not paid.
This article would be a good read.

Stasis + Kismet + Chronatog = Everthing comes in tapped nothing untaps and with chono you just keep skipping your turn so you dont have to pay for stasis and eventually mill your opponante out of cards. I ran a deck like this in the 90's and my friends aboulutly hated it. I still have itr maybe i will use it again someday lol.

Wow, that article really helped, Epochalyptik! Thanks to everyone, I think that clears most of what I was saying up.

How would Stasis play against a deck like robots? A deck that is super fast and runs Memnite , Lightning Bolt , Galvanic Blast , and Cranial Plating ?

A good example is this deck: This is how you lose friends. (Stasis)
