Just wondering if anyone has found any good alternatives to Ponder that'll still be legal in standard come October.

Index looks, as of now, to be the best replacement. Though it is without the shuffle ability and the draw

Well we can hope for a card that would be better than Index come RTR, but that's optimism speaking.

Since they've gone and banned Ponder in some eternal formats, I don't foresee them printing a functional reprint so soon. Blue may be stuck with Thought Scour for easy cantriping.

Yeah Index does seem plausible, just sucks not having that draw and shuffle :-/

Index is terrible and unplayable in 60-card formats. Thought Scour is the best we have to look forward to that we know of. We just have to hope for something in RTR. It would be pretty amazing to see Opt reprinted but it's probably too good for Standard right now, with all the miracles running around. I think something more like Serum Visions or Sleight of Hand is more likely. Ponder , Portent , and Preordain are all way above the power curve in the current format.

I've always thought Index was a suitable replacement for Ponder , until I used it.
Nope, definitely not an alternative, not even by a million miles.
I'm going with Thought Scour and Forbidden Alchemy for my filtration needs come rotation if there's nothing that RTR presents.

I like forbidden alchemy more. And shuffle isn't that bad. Lots of decks at my locals seem to run Evolving Wilds just to have shuffle power.

thought scour is the best one cost version we currently have but Evolving Wilds serves serveral purposes it fixes mana, shuffles the library, and thins the library all at the same time the only downside is you may lose a play on your first turn or the turn it is played depending on the avg cmc in your hand.
also i checked gatherer and as it stands there are no good reprints as suitable replacements for cmc 1 from the ravnica block. I am unfamiliar with the full set so im not sure about higher cmc cards.

You could use Index instead of ponder.
