Hey guys. Saw this site on reddit and decided to get advice from you.
So I bought a Born of the Gods fat pack and a pre-release thing they had to for it. It was a white themed one. My local store didn't have deck building kits.
I'm just drawing a blank on what to do. The themes in this set are things I wouldn't normally use back when I played.
I was thinking about going for a deck built around the inspired ability. I know I'm not very interested in the heroic ability. I prefer mono type decks. I will start out casual and semi-competitive then go from there as I relearn the game. My budget isn't anything crazy but I'm willing to shell out if I need too.
I hope this type of thread is ok. If you need more details just ask. Thanks for any help.
I am really a fan of the constellation mechanic in JOU. I think it has legs if focused on enough. My bet would be all enchantment permaments with Underworld Coinsmith , Grim Guardian and Eidolon of Countless Battles as win conditions. Very well for casual and semi casual play. The only thing you should shell out for are the temples in the colors you wish to play.
That said, if you head in as mono white, you have a solid chance, but most of the good stuff will be rotating out soon. A mono white aggro has 12 1 drops in the form of Soldier of the Pantheon , Boros Elite and Dryad Militant . Up the scale we have Precinct Captain , Banisher Priest and Spear of Heliod , as well as Heliod, God of the Sun and ajani to boost them.

The best sinpired cards are probably Pain Seer , King Macar, the Gold-Cursed , and some of the ones in blue.
I think a decent starting point may be to make a black aggro deck with things like Pain Seer , Master of the Feast , Spiteful Returned and maybe some enchantments. You could possibly curve out into 1 or 2 Gray Merchant of Asphodel but thats a little late game.
The aim would be to hit hard and fast, finishindg as quickly as possible and use your Pain Seer for card draw to keep the pressure up.
