Isn't Aether Hub just a better Tendo Ice Bridge?

In a proliferate deck at least.
Aether Hub is $3 and the counter cant be removed without your approval.
Tendo Ice Bridge is $8 and can potentially be ruined with something like Vampire Hexmage.
If I plan on proliferating the counters is there any reason Tendo is better? Maybe in a Vorel of the Hull Clade deck but otherwise I dont see a reason this $8 card should be played over the uncommon version
Not sure if it matters in your meta, but unless you have other Energy sources, Tendo Ice Bridge is probably better vs. Ghost Quarter and Wasteland. If Tendo is immediately destroyed, you can still Tap in response and get colored mana. But if Aether Hub is destroyed with its ETB trigger on the stack, you can only tap for colorless.

clayperce, that is a valid point. I dont think it would matter in my meta at least, since land destruction is typically reserved for utility lands rather than trying to screw over someone's color fixing. But that is something I hadnt considered.

You can still proliferate Energy Counters with Atraxa, Praetors' Voice and/or Inexorable Tide.
I would argue Aether land is better because there's an entire set devoted to giving you lots of energy counters, so the more the merrier. And it's easier too.

If you're running a Proliferate deck, why not run both?

I actually prefer not to run both. I am building Atraxa and I find that these types of lands hurt me if I draw them turns 1-4 since I have to use the counter to get Atraxa out and then cant proliferate it. My mana base is already pretty solid so adding another of these types of lands hurts more than helps.

I would add to that the fact that Aether Hub plays very nicely with other energy counter effects whereas Tendo Ice Bridge uses a local counter that has very few interactions with other cards.
