Islandwalk in Commander

I'm considering starting up an Islandwalk deck for EDH. I was originally planning to go Simic, but upon researching possible Legendaries with Islandwalk, I've shifted that to either mono-U, UW, or UB. Any recommendations on what to put in the deck? Stormtide Leviathan is slated for inclusion.

I personally would want to try out Sygg, River Cutthroat, he seems to encourage an aggressive strategy. An islandwalk deck would be unique, and it might be funny to use something like Mind Bend or Whim of Volrath to create some strange, unexpected uses for stuff like War Barge or Merfolk Assassin.

You might be more interested in Sygg, River Guide though. He also encourages you to play tribal. I haven't reviewed the islandwalk options to know if Islandwalk/Merfolk tribal seems practical. He'd be more flexible in a longer game though.

Islandwalk is fine if it comes up on cards organically, but I am not so sure having a deck revolve around it would be as successful as you might hope.

If you expand the theme to unblockable, you open up a lot of possibilities in Blue/White that would make the deck more efficient. The exception would be Merfolk tribal, but I still feel like that operates more slowly than other decks.

Just throwing this out there. Zedruu is amazing with land walk abilities. Simply donate an island to someone and boom. Island walkers get through. Also Sygg, River Guide allows for land walkers with tons of Merfolk that have island walk, give island walk, or turn lands into islands.

if your going dual color then go Simic so you get the Ramp from Green. otherwise id say UW as its the next best option. UB is usually for Mill decks not aggro

Doing something unusual like building aggro UB is half the fun. You learn more when you go against the grain or move out of your comfort zone.

Lots of interesting opinions here.

Dimir can run Blue/Black with Filth and Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth synergies, I'm not sure if that's what you would be looking at though.
