Shoring up the Line, by Stealing Less —Aug. 29, 2023
Hello all,
Its a rainy day today, and I am in the process of updating all of my Commander decks that have been updated over the past year or so. Life may have kept me away from updating things, but Its always good to keep things up to date when you have time. I also like to think the following updates have made this deck a bit more consistent.
Villainous Wealth ---------------------------------> Tribute to the World Tree:
Basically, Villainous Wealth is a great finisher, but unfortunately it can be a dead card if drawn to early. Instead, this Tribute will literally either draw me cards or super-empower my smaller creatures... which is a good chunk of them, surprisingly.
Gonti, Lord of Luxury --------------------------> Venser, Shaper Savant:
I had removed Gonti when I had moved to Arizona, because Spelltable just isn't good for stealing stuff. Plus, Venser makes so many things in my deck literally combo-tastic.... so thus, changed.
Viven, Champion of the Wilds -------------------------> Aether Channeler:
Vivien is really only useful for flash... and the channeler is really useful like a swiss army knife. It bounces, it draws cards, AND it even makes birds! Viven is just for flash, and shes... kinda useful, but just not as much these days.
Amphin Mutineer --------------------------------> Ertai Resurrected:
Amphin is super good, but when I moved back, I have seen a lot of changlings added in... and Ertai allows me to also counter things, OR kill things at instant speed. Because there's a lot of changlings, it just doesnt have the same impact... plus, the Amphin just makes 4/3s for my opponents. Its not bad, but Ertai just edges out due to the meta I am in.
Golgari Findbroker ---------------------------> Timeless Witness:
So, this change, like the mutineer, allows me to have multiuse out of one card. THIS witness lets me use it twice, in one card. More efficient, the better.
