I'd personally go for the Scouring Sands . I think it's a decent cards that can be used in SB in case someone is running several small creature. The Reckless Reveler isn't bad either but I could see a situation where you could run more than one. The God's Weapon cycle are good, and with 8 pack someone might pull one. I don't know about this pack.

Tricky dilemma. Let's think numbers. Normally, I like to run 16 creatures/8 non-creatures/16 lands. If I have 3 colors and I'm in bad shape with mana fixing, I'll run 17 lands. That's rare. Anyway, I'm figuring we don't want to maindeck more than 8 NCs.
If we crunch some numbers, and figure most of our blue will be cut, then at first it looks like we do have room to take a NC here. But we have those pesky bestow creatures and that throws a big monkey-wrench, er, satyr-tongs into the math.
If we plan on casting the Noble Quarry and Nyxborn Rollicker as enchantments, then I think instead we're looking at wanting to take a creature spell here. I mean...I guess. They do (possibly) become creatures again, so I'm not sure how to count them.
I need to chew on this one.

You count bestow creatures as creatures. Granted, they get extra value if you cast them as an aura first, but they're still creatures.
I really like Scouring Sands here. It's not just meant to sweep weenies. It can be used post combat to finish off creatures.

So what are your thoughts on "Revel Alliance"? I tagged people because I'm not sure if everyone saw the end of this thread.
The more I think about it, the more I like it. I think it is subtle enough to be fun for us without saying "We drafted Xenagos". These team names were (in theory, at least) chosen before we drafted anyway, right?

I like Scouring Sands here. Playing two Reckless Revelers would be very weak. Scouring Sands is at least playable as a 23rd card or sideboard.
+1 Scouring Sands

Nothing worth hating, marginally useful, why not.

Scouring Sands is an ok sideboard card, but it bothers me a little to pass a Deepwater Hypnotist this late when the card is legitimately decent. I've taken my share of 5th pick Hypnotists and never regretted my choice except when I cut blue entirely. So... there's that.
I'm voting +1 Deepwater Hypnotist even though I'm already outvoted.

I like Rousseaus's reasoning. Deepwater this late is giving good value to someone else's deck. The red isn't that good and we've passed enough blue so that I think it's alright to hate draft here without someone deciding to switch to red on us or something crazy like that. This late in a pack, I think it is ok to take the best card, and I highly doubt we or an opponent will be playing Scouring Sands anyways, even from the sideboard.

+1 Deepwater Hypnotist

Based on color alone, I think we're a lot more likely to run Scouring Sands than the Hypnotist. I think only some very choice blue cards will make it. Like maybe 3. I can't see the Hypnotist being one of them.
Blue may even get cut entirely, though I'd hate to waste the Temple of Epiphany . We know red won't.
I also don't think we should hatedraft unless there is just nothing for us to use. Scouring Sands looks just as good anyway.

I see good arguments both sides. You are correct, Scouring Sands does defeat the hypnotist, and about 70+ other creatures in this block as someone mentioned earlier. I really do like it as a sideboard card actually. If they are playing a lot of 1-toughness creatures, we can side out the Magma Spray and throw in the Scouring Sands. You could also argue that the Deepwater is being more aggressive, and forcing us to react and make a change in our deck. The Deepwater really can change the dynamic of the game early on and build momentum and control for the opponent, or we could just draft it and not have to worry about it. The thing that changed my mind was that I just realized how much I think Deepwater stands out in this pack in terms of general value; it is better than it seems. Also, as long as we have one of the colors of the scryland, we are not wasting it. If I'm not running a lot of double colored spells, I would even run a scry land entirely not in my colors, just for the scry!Overall, I agree that we will be taking out blue entirely, and if we want to concentrate on our deck, Scouring Sands could end up being a mini board wipe to a dangerous aggro deck, and can be a great sideboard card.I will change my vote again

Here's another bit to throw in:
I have not played with DH. But it to me like it is only effective if it gets going early. Like if we drop it on T2. If it comes in mid-late game when the opponent has a blocker that can eat it, then unless we get help from another card, it would not be safe to swing it, thus not tapping it, thus not untapping it and not triggering its ability.
If blue is a 3-card splash (or so) for us, we're likely not to have blue mana on T2. I think that means we want the blue spells that we do run to be spells that are effective if they come later. Like Hubris , Triton Shorestalker and Stormchaser Chimera .

All reasonable arguments, and I'm not upset about the Scouring Sands pick. I maintain my vote, however, in the interests of upholding democratic values, particularly the one in which each person votes for what they think is best, not what they think will win. I know that I am in the minority, but I am ok with that.
I reiterate: Sands is a fine pick. I still like Hypnotist.
