4th and 5th at FNM —March 22, 2019
This will probably be my last Standard update ever.
StuBi and I both played this deck a couple of weeks ago at FNM.
He came fourth and I came fifth. I played against two Control decks, and Sideboarded poorly.
From memory he won two games, lost one game, and tied one.
I lost two games (to the two Control decks), and won the other two.
I should have consulted my Sideboard notes against the Control decks. My strategy was supposed to have been to shove more Creature spells in, but unfortunately I took all my Creature spells OUT. Disaster ensued.
The most exciting part of the night for me was that I got to play both of my white-bordered Shocks, and my white-bordered Mountains. I also got to use two red, metal dice that I had.
I am a bit sad to stop playing Standard, in that I now have NO idea what any of the major threats are.
What I won't miss are some of the smug players, and the stale meta.
murrymack link cards so that I can see what they do.
Sarkhan's Whelp is primarily in the deck to trigger Dragon's Hoard and Lathliss, Dragon Queen .
It is often Sided out.
Link "skarrgan". Until you do that I can't comment on it.

Deface Would add a way to deal with artifacts and worse case scenario you can use it to crack open your own eggs. I play a deck with dragon eggs in it and always find a use for the two deface I run main deck. If I don't need help cracking eggs or busting up artifacts I just side them out.

Hey. I really enjoy playing this deck, but I primarily play MTG Arena where bo1 is the most popular format. It seems like it kinda struggles into decks like mono white aggro and mono blue tempo (and midrange golgari as previously mentioned) without swapping from the side deck. I came up with a Rakdos version with the new Ravnica Allegiance cards and was wondering what you thought of it. I swapped Dismissive Pyromancer for Rix Maadi Reveler to smooth your draws because I feel like the mana sink and tapping your defender is too slow; and you also can sometimes pull off a sneaky draw 2 or 3 with the spectacle. And threw in a few Ritual of Soot s to deal with buffed tokens and even big cards like Hydroid Krasis and Gatebreaker Ram

Hi there! I'm currently building a similar deck to this one. Do you find value in using sarkhans whelp? 3 cmc 2/2 seems too expensive for that ability? How often do you get that value from the whelp? And skarrgan is also in my maybeboard, have u tried it? and if so, how good was it in a dragon deck?
