FNM 24 August —Aug. 25, 2018
Definitely loving this deck (most of the time lol). This FNM I faced a variety of decks despite it only being three rounds my opponents varied in strengths and weaknesses.
Round one B/W Vampires 2-0 The vampire deck while it put up a fight just didn't have the means to deal with the creatures of my deck. I took damage turns 3-6 and once my deck was online it was over.
Round Two mono Black Zombies 0-2 Probably my most frustrating lossed ever game one consisted of two lands by turn 7 (I started with them and an elf in hand) none of them red so I couldn't even discard to draw. Game two I drew lands for turns 3-9 while I was ae to bring my life total back up to 10 TWICE with togaar I literally just drew lands and passed until I was overwhelmed by 7 6/6 Zombies. I incredibly frustrating round loss not even getting to play. And game two I also sided boarded in nearly every piece of removal I had and drew 1 the entire game lol. Oh well it happens.
Round three Boros Voltron 2-0 Once I saw what my opponent was playing I knew I won pretty easily. Being that voltron decks with equipments and enchantments don't flood the field with a lot of creatures I could target each creature separately and kill them one by one. One I got brontodons or Vaevictus onto the field it was a pretty simple plan from that point. Remove all their stuff from the equation and swing for lethal. I love the deck and the idea but it's always just a turn too slow.
Overall I love the performance of the deck and I played a best of 5 versus that very same zombie deck and won 3-2 it took a bit of shenanigans with acting like I was sideboarding when I wasn't so when my opponent was prepared to counter my answers they were still in the sideboard =) overall fun deck and I'm anxious to see what synergies may arrive with Guilds. Thanks for reading!

Thanks for the suggestions! I thought about Stichers Supplier is wildly uncontrolled. I could throw an Llanowar Elves or Thrashing Brontodon into the graveyard and absolutely ruin a good start to a game. I also couldn't justify dropping anything for a 1/1 that maybe sometimes might put something into my graveyard. My original rendition of the deck ran 3 copies of Benefaction of Rhonas however I ran into a huge problem. Throwing treasure map or Lifecrafter's Bestiary into the graveyard or even the last couple lands I need to start reanimation out of my graveyard. The other problem I had with it is it doesn't give me the card advantage either. Primevals' Glorious Rebirth may actually be a fantastic one of I have to look into that. Thanks for the idea!

Love the deck. Have you thought about Chupras somewhere as some additional removal?

I have considered Ravenous chups however outside of the "kill target creature" etb it does absolutely nothing. It doesn't force trades like Gonti its terms of small creatures and let's face it if you threaten to swing with a 2/2 most of the time your opponent smiles and says "that's it?". Really cool ETB effect and I may take out the combustible for a second noxious.

Ah yeah that sounds fair enough, no worries. Why not though run something like Defiant Salvager instead of Brontodon? Sacks itself for cheaper, doesn't cost double colours, and has much better evasion from damage and removal :) There's also Boneyard Parley, which could be a little better than Primeval's, or maybe The Mending of Dominaria? Liliana, Death's Majesty could do some major work for you, too.

Thank you for the additional suggestions. The Defiant Salvager was passed by because it's a creature or artifact. While that works great there are too many enchantments being played right now to pass by the Thrashing Brontodon also the Salvager activates only at sorcery speed. That's the biggest reason to not play it. With Brontodon I can block sac and blow something up so I take no damage and they lose something else as well. I personally value instant speed interactions way more. Boneyard Parley might be a decent one of in the deck but probably not more than that. I'd rather start with any other card than that one in my starting hand. Additionally a 7 cost sorcery is a huge investment in the current meta. If that get countered it completely shuts the deck down for a turn. The Mending of Dominaria hmmmm I'm torn on this one. While the potential for some additional lands is quite nice the potential to throw away card advantage is quite real as well. It's something I'll have to play test to see if the rewards are worth the risk. Lastly liliana, death's majesty could be a decent addition but I feel like she is a less reliable recursion as she can only bring something back every third turn she is on the board unless I'm just sending her on a kamikaze mission lol. Again with the possibility of not throwing a single creature into the graveyard with her +1 could hurt me quite more than help. Only running 17 creatures I'm more likely to throw stuff into the graveyard other than creatures. I definitely will mess around with some of the suggestions and see if anything sticks. If Liliana was more of a "keep her alive for three turns and you win" she would definitely be with the risk. Overall I appreciate the ideas and if you think of something else feel free to toss it my way! Thank you!

Makes sense. I’m going to playtest this and see how it goes!

Sorry for double post. Curious if you have any insider tips on how to play the deck.
It looks pretty self explanatory. But maybe you have a few thoughts.

The ideal way to play the deck it turn 1 green mana and elf. Turn two you have a variety of plays that can be made. You can use card discard/draw discarding your creatures to keep the card juices flowing you can play a brontodon on turn two assuming you play a second land and have lanowar out. Or you could even place the journey onto an elf if you played an elf turn 1 this allows you to out tempo your opponent almost 100% of the time. From there you can use a vicious offering to sac and elf or use brontodon to target the journey if you place it on brontodon. Because it triggers when the creature it is attached to dies you can use the brontodon to target the enchantment and the flip goes on the stack before the enchantment gets destroyed. Bestiary and treasure map are there for filter don't be afraid to be behind. This deck is surprisingly excellent at stabilizing with the right pieces of the board or in your hand. This deck is also very capable of hard casting a zacama on turn 6 things get pretty stupid from that point as you can imagine. Hopefully this is a good start to help ya out if not feel free to message me and I'll go into further detail about turn play outs!

So a small update I play tested with the Liliana's currently in standard and they all kind of just didn't do anything. Most notable effects where throwing stuff into my graveyard I didn't want there. Kind of frustrating lol.

Although it costs a little more, I think Benefaction of Rhonas could be a little better than your current sorceries; lets you put more into the graveyard, and search a little more reliably for your pieces. Stitcher's Supplier could potentially be useful, and Primevals' Glorious Rebirth could be a fantastic one-of. Cool deck, +1 :)
