Benefaction of Rhonas

Sorcery

Reveal the top five cards of your library. You may put a creature card and/or enchantment card from among them into your hand. Put the rest into your graveyard.

I like Doom Whisperer quite a bit given enough life you can chuck usually about half your library into your graveyard while keeping essential cards on top. Otherwise some one time uses are Benefaction of Rhonas, Gather the Pack, and Commune with the Gods

Tomb Robber, Undercity Informer, Sanguine Spy are nice as they are also outlets for discard and sacrificing respectively.

For indiscriminate mill I use Splinterfright, Nyx Weaver, and Perpetual Timepiece.

If you are running creature heavy Altar of Dementia (Doubles as a win con) and if you run big creatures I like Greater Good.

Songs of the Damned, World Shaper, and Skull Prophet are usually an auto include for me if I'm chucking creatures into my graveyard.

Omnath, Ground's Revenge

Legendary Creature - Elemental

Ward--Discard or sacrifice a land

Whenever a player discards a land card, you may reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a land. Put that land onto the battlefield tapped or into your graveyard, and then put the rest into your graveyard.

When Omnath, Ground's Revenge attacks, it deals damage to defending player equal to the number of lands in your graveyard plus the number of lands in defending player's graveyard.

I made it so you could put in cards like Mulch, Benefaction of Rhonas, etc., as well as rummaging cards (Cathartic Reunion, etc.) and get benefit from green's self-mill AND red's self-discard.

How do you soul bond an opponent's creature. Make a card that does something like that for an effect that benefits you or impedes them.

Cool idea, but I think you might have overloaded on fatties. See Beyond is a great addition for this type of effect to shuffle a creature back in that you don't want in your hand. Also, how about some copies of Gaea's Blessing and/or Clear the Mind to reload your deck?

With these additions, you could focus on your best fatties and play more control cards such as Stubborn Denial. You could even include Commune with the Gods or Benefaction of Rhonas to dig for Defense of the Heart.

Grubbernaut, zapyourtumor, Balaam__: Benefaction of Rhonas is out. Commune with Nature is in. Also, a slight update. Thanks for the advice, guys!

Commune with the Gods seems strictly better than Benefaction of Rhonas in this deck

I would go with some other draw spells, myself, but I mainly wanted to ask about Benefaction of Rhonas . Without any enchantments in the deck, Commune with the Gods is a strict upgrade at one less mana.

Cheers!

The deck looks promising. My own spider list differs quite a lot, but this is similar to my turtle list. A card I really like in there is Benefaction of Rhonas. At worst, it draws you a creature or enchantment you wouldn't have drawn otherwise. But many times, it draws you the two most important card from among your top five.

Drop 2 lands to make your deck 60 and also you already have High Alert , no need for Assault Formation . Replace it with Idyllic Tutor or Benefaction of Rhonas .
