A turtle fan's fairy tale... —Sept. 13, 2019
...is what happens on Eldraine. Steel-bane hydra and Thunderous Snapper might be the better cards in a vacuum, but in this list, Mistford River Turtle is incredible as it finally makes Meandering Towershell an actual threat.

Fairmount: Great suggestions, thank you. I have most of my communes in my snake deck, so I'll leave it out here. Shape the Sands is indeed very interesting.

Also, Profaner of the Dead is sweet tech! Sidisi's Faithful comes to mind a mini version of Profaner

Fairmount: Yeah, profaner's a pretty sick sweeper here. Just imagine attacking with a Towershell, then dropping Profaner the next turn bouncing the whole opposing board and hit with your 9/9 turtle. I do have a playset of faithful, but actually decided against it because, though it would fit perfectly strategy-wise, it isn't a turtle.
KingofCorns: Thanks for the probs :)

Beast Within is a great piece of removal for Turtles since the 3/3 Beast generally can't get past all the 1/4s you have. I wouldn't run Silburlind Snapper - I think it's just a terrible card - and I probably wouldn't run more than 1 Meandering Towershell - I do really love the concept behind its design but it's also pretty underpowered for its cost. I'd replace them with either Giant Turtles or Horned Turtles, which admittedly aren't great either but at least help keep you alive in the early game.

Lame_Duck: great suggestions. I added one beast within and one rapid hybridization as i had them lying around. We'll see which one's better. Also, i replaced snapper with two horned turtle. Vizier of the menagerie and avatar of the verdant sun had to leave as well. Towershell on the other hand is just to cool to not play it twice in my opinion. But that's my vorthos i guess.

_raeofsunlight: sorry i didn't answer yet, obviously i didn't notice the notification for it back in march...regarding your suggestion: i'm not exactly sure why Might of the Masses would be an auto-include here. It pumps, that's true. But as the deck isn't a token swarm deck, might isn't at its best here.

I have been looking for a turtle deck for a long time and I love this one. Keep up the good work!

rentron: thanks a lot. If you like the deck, I would really appreciate an upvote. The next thing that will get added will propably be two copies of angler turtle once it gets released.
Do you like unusual tribal decks? I have some more of these, just take a look at my "my tribals"folder.

Ninokun: great to hear you like the deck. It's actually a lot of fun to play and it's actually quite powerful. Any ideas on how to improve it?

Well, maybe Neoform . If you open your eyes just a little bit, it looks like a turtle. And it gives you flexibility.
