Lets hope for something playable in the next set.

I love this deck, but if you had to pick a different card than nexus of fate what would it be? I know its effect is really unique but I just don't play with foils

HealthyFrog We're really favoring warp density right now but If I had to choose a replacement it would be a piece of recursion or another attacker so probably either Nostalgic Dreams or Artificer's Assistant. Your call, though I would lean towards dreams as it lets you reuse a warp.

Been playing edric for about 8 months now, and I have found that the aggro political beatdown list to be better. You can often leverage players greed to eventually explode forward and win the table instantly. I don't run it as a 100% beatdown, but combining some taking turns + aggro options is the ideal form of the list IMO.

mkohm5 Hey there! It seems that you may be playing Edric in a more casual setting. Politics are non existent in competitive EDH as everyone is aiming to make the best and most correct play possible. Your strategy may very well work better in a casual setting, but in 4 player competitive, bribes and politics just don't happen. If you want to find out more about competitive EDH and Edric in the format, please feel free to come over to the Edric discord. https://discord.gg/VHEwb7Q

Allergymedsandcats Fair enough, I have been running a Malaren of the Mournsong Ad Nauseam in more competitive scenes.

Why are you not running nexus of fate?>

You going to find a home for the new Pteramander here? If for no other reason than it's a salamander drake.

to save everyone some time;

@justinhohenshelt - it's in the deck already. It's an instant (one of the reasons why it's good), so you might be missing it. ctrl+f for it

@enpc - there was a discussion about it on Edric discord and everyone, including Allergymedsandcats, agreed that the deck has wide enough selection of attackers that we can be picky, so a simple " Flying Men with a slight upside" doesn't cut it these days. There is a guide for grading attackers in the primer so this all could make more sense if you take a look there. But it's cool that budget versions just got a new solid attacker.

JohnnyCRO Thank you for helping out, Johnny. I havent checked Tapped out in a while.

justinhohenshelt Just as Johnny said, Nexus of fate is right there in the list. You must not have realized that its an instant so you might have missed it.

enpc Yeah Ptera will not be making it in. Hahah just not good enough. No relevant creature types or utility that helps the gameplan.

Hi I am looking at this as my first dive into the format from casual play. Just wondering how much have a selvala in my meta would (if at all) hinder edric and lastly is gilded drake a good include?

January 20, 2019 4:17 p.m.

kungfoomoo Not sure. I think I need more info. Which Selvala are we talking about and what is their gameplan?

Sorry for the spam Allergy, but I have a story related to Clyde_Bankstons comment that I just have to share;

I recently played a game that boiled down to me and my Edric vs a friend piloting their Jhoira storm. He imprinted a Dispel onto a scepter hoping to stop me from going off. Next turn I topdecked a Personal Tutor , went for Notorious Throng that ended up winning me the game in the end without the need for me to cast a single instant.

( I play both Personal and Mystical, but this is a sweet corner case I just had to share)
