"We still fight for the plane we had, even if we'll never be able to restore what it once was." – Melira

Synergy

Join the Mirran Resistance as they take the fight to the Phyrexians - and all others who threaten them - with a full frontal assault complete with ambushes planned and reinforcements. Built entirely, and fittingly, around the For Mirrodin! mechanic, the strategy is to lay on the attack - and when one rebel falls then another can take up their equipment and fight on. Be ready to shift equipment around to maximize both offensive and defensive capabilities pre and post Combat phase, a task made cheaper by Astor, Bearer of Blades, with ambushes taking the form of Resistance Reunited, Rebel Salvo, and Disenchant. But all rebel forces need reinforcements and, here, the Mirrans get theirs courtesy of The Eternal Wanderer, Kemba, Kha Enduring, and their newly ascended ally Archangel Elspeth, which can be critical if you find yourself heavy on equipment but short on troops to wield them. But where is the Resistance without three of their greatest heroes? In addition to her aforementioned ascended form, Elspeth Resplendent's +1 and ultimate abilities breath new life and angelic blessings upon the beleaguered Mirrans, while Koth, Fire of Resistance's provides mana and can swiftly end games even as both iterations of Jor Kadeen lead the charge. For Mirrodin!

Playability Results

This deck is strategic Aggro, so if you are tactical in balancing attack and defense like any Resistance-fighter worth the name then this deck will, like the Mirrans, either prevail to victory or make your foes pay dearly for a win. Unless facing off against heavy Counter, Prison, and/or Removal features, I have never seen this deck loose quietly, so do not be afraid to take a hit while playing it. I have won many a match by taking damage so as to then move in for the kill. Strategic Aggro and tactical risk-taking characterize the Mirran Resistance, and this deck channels their inner fire and steel. (See the Commander version of this deck here: Victorious Mirrans)

"Mirrodin was - is - a plane of steel. Mirrodin's people reflect that. As long as one of us is breathing, we'll keep fighting back." – Koth
