Question About Scouting Trek

Asked by TangoWithTojo 4 years ago

Let's say I have Leyline of Anticipation down so I can cast sorceries as instants to start off.

So in Scouting Trek 's text, it says in the first part, "Search your library for any number of basic land cards, reveal them, and set them aside." Can I, in response to that, before shuffling my library and putting all the lands on top, cast Treasure Hunt as an instant and draw my entire library? Or do I have to let the sorcery completely resolve before interrupting it with an instant?

During the resolution of a spell or ability, no player has priority and therefore no player can cast spells or activate abilities.

You must wait for Scouting Trek to fully resolve before you’re able to cast Treasure Hunt .

Also, Treasure Hunt reveals until you hit a non-land, so even if you could somehow cast this with no lands in your deck, perhaps with Mana Severance , you’d reveal the first card and be finished, it wouldn’t draw your library.

Oh I miss-read Treasure Hunt but you answered my general question. Thanks!

Treasure Hunt would be a good follow-up to the Scouting Trek , though, immediately drawing you all those lands you stacked at the top of your deck, plus whatever non-land card is underneath them.

Kogarashi Yea if you get Reliquary Tower or Thought Vessel down early, you could have all the land drops you need for the rest of the game, just sitting in your hand. Pretty nice combo.
