Narset's Reversal + Isochron Scepter + Teferi's Protection

Isochron Scepter with Narset's Reversal imprinted and casting Teferi's Protection . You could cast Teferi's Protection every round this way yes? I know lol roundabout and 5 mana but still...

Yes, Narset's Reversal returns the original Teferi's Protection before it resolves, thus the exile portion of the card would not have had a chance to take effect.

TypicalTimmy - It never changed zones, so yes, it would remember.

Now if you used the Isochron Scepter + Narset's Reversal on a spell with in its casting cost like Curse of the Swine as a random example ... does the copy recognize what you payed for ?

The will be copied.

Rule 706.2: When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object's characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode, targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The "copiable values" are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, rules text, power, toughness, and/or loyalty), as modified by other copy effects, by its face-down status, and by "as . . . enters the battlefield" and "as . . . is turned face up" abilities that set power and toughness (and may also set additional characteristics). Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and counters are not copied. (Emphasis added).

Also, since this is asking how a set of cards function, rather than discussing their use, I’ve moved this over to Rules Q&A. If your intent was to discuss the combo’s viability, rather than just ask if it worked, I can move it back.

cdkime

Well now I have to ask: is it viable? Sounds fun not being there the whole game.

In the future, please remember to hit the “Mark as Answer” button once your question has been resolved. I’ve gone ahead and marked an answer on your behalf.

Rambolicious_0 - I think that could probably be a topic for an entire thread. Personally, I think it has a bit too many moving pieces, but I think it would be fun if someone pulled it off.

I didn't initially put it in a section that could be considered 'answered' (it got moved). I wanted discussion on the viability of Isochron Scepter with Narset's Reversal imprinted. Teferi's Protection was just the first card that came to mind for me to abuse it.

I can move it back if you wish. But you might want to update the initial post to be a bit more clear that’s what you’re looking to discuss.

It's ok, I've been busy anyways. If it comes to it I'll create a new thread.
