Help with a $10 red deck

Deck Help forum

I'm trying to grow pauper at my LGS and the store owner agreed to hold pauper swiss tourneys on sundays, but only if I submit to him 5 $10 decks complete with a sideboard which he can rent out. Well I did, but the only one I'm not impressed with is my red version. Should I abandon it and try to make a sly deck? HELP! I only have till the end of the week to submit the decks.

Pauper tournaments with 10 dollar decks and 5 dollar entry fee sounds a bit too much.

10 dollars is a bit limiting, even for pauper - some of the staples cost a fair amount (I am not making the Sinkhole and Oubliette black devotion deck ever), like Delver of Secrets  Flip or even Lightning Bolt.

Having optimal decks to showcase the history and pedigree of the format would be ideal, but lets work with what we have. 10 dollars. Wiil post in the deck itself.

Thanks Boza! The store owner just wasn't that thrilled about holding pauper tourneys because it doesn't net him much profit. I argued that getting people into the store would do that. Most of the players for bi-weekly FNM standard constructed (the other week is draft) run budget decks anyways. Since pauper is relatively an unheard of format in my area filled with mostly casual players, the owner wanted the rent option to spur interest.

Anyways, I've been thinking about scrapping what I have and going a token route.

Then what I posted on the deck itself should interest you. Damn you overcosted modern staple Goblin Bushwhacker!

What we did to support the store and have the tournament is to make the entry fee a booster from the store. With 8 players, you pay those out as 3-2-1-1-1 scheme and both the store and you profit. I got and distributed cool FNM promo foils of commons like Basking Rootwalla or something like that.

Also, by not having a pauper tournament, the store owner is gaining nothing on that Sunday afternoon, so he actually wants to have 0 profits by not holding a tournament instead of the possibility to get more eyeballs on the merch.

That's a pretty sweet plan that I'll bring up with the owner. Thanks for the help!
