Mixing in Shaman of the Pack worth it (Modern Elves)?

Modern Deck Help forum

Good evening, my friends.

I've got a mono-green Elf deck for Modern that I'm still fine-tuning, but I've been really happy with up to this point (Pointy-Eared Bastards). Ever since I started though, Shaman of the Pack has been hanging out in my peripheral vision. I like alternate win conditions and it seems to offer that along with its own synergy.

If I were to add it to the deck, I'd probably try to do it without making any changes to land, instead relying on spells like Genesis Wave or Collected Company to get it directly into play. I'm also throwing in Beastcaller Savant to help out on that front.

All of this is, of course, for naught if it throws off my mana curve or slows the deck by a round or two, so I was hoping to get some of you experts to look at how I've got it broken down and tell me if this would be an actual improvement, or just me chasing a pretty girl in a short skirt.

The version I'm asking for input on would, naturally, be Pointy-Eared Bastards II. Thanks in advance.

Just a quick update - I've decided to build five elf decks, one mono-green and then one that splashes each color. There's the original Pointy-Eared Bastards (Mono Green), the aforementioned and re-named Pointy-Eared Bastards (Splash Black) which is coming along superbly well and the newest addition, Pointy-Eared Bastards (Splash Blue) which I'm really happy with. Red and White will be forthcoming.

Back to the OP, though - I'm really liking the way Throne of the God-Pharaoh is complimenting Shaman of the Pack and the natural acceleration of elves. I'm always looking to have an alternate route to victory and I feel like this does that, increasing the pressure and reducing the time the opponent has to respond. Naturally, Wrath of God and similar spells can be a pain - if they get them out in time - but thanks to the splash black, all of a sudden spells like Surgical Extraction, Stain the Mind and Thoughtseize become an option from the sideboard.

As always, looking for any and all thoughts on this little project of mine - thanks in advance!
