I'm building a Hibernation's End deck and need help building the ramp base and choosing colours. I thinking of doing a deck but can't decide if that's to many colours or not (or the wrong colours)

probably just jam as many 1 mana dorks as possible to get it down fast.

So does the cumulative upkeep add the counters?

Yeah every time you pay it, it adds one counter

Ok because it doesn't say so on the card

How about combining hibernation's end with Guided Passage? Would force some super-hard decisions for your opponent.

Guided Passage is not modern legal.

I would recommend an Arbor Elf/Utopia Sprawl combo. It makes up to 4 mana on turn two. with that in mind, you may have to upgrade your mana base to play 3 colors. as in cards such as Cinder Glade, Breeding Pool. Basically anything that still has the forest type in the land type. It also allows you to have the multiple colors you seek if you are building a tri-color deck.

So how exactly is Hibernation's End suppose to win you the game?

Chord of Calling is probably better, but I'm not sure what you plan to do?

I'm also pretty sure there is a new one coming out for the 2019 core set called Cliffs of Ochre Jel. It turns into a 2/4 creature that gets a +1/+1 counter on it every time it deals damage, no the counters are not removed after it turns back into a land, they stay.
