Help! Elspeth or Nahiri?

Modern Deck Help forum

So basically I can't decide between Elspeth, Knight-Errant and Nahiri, the Harbinger.

At the moment I am using Elspeth, but I'm constantly jumping between the two. She brings in a blocker or can give Ajani's Pridemate flying, which is pretty great and can often win the game for me. But Nahiri gives card draw and extra removal. Both of which are always nice.

However, it's really the ults I'm after. Elspeth just straight up gives me an emblem. But Nahiri can flash in Avacyn, Angel of Hope or Archangel of Thune depending on the board state. Also, Nahiri will be able to ult much quicker than Elspeth. I'm just not sure which would be more useful.

Thanks in advance!

I think elspeth is better in my opinion. I really dont know how your deck plays out but I think that it wants to be somewhat aggressive and when the cards are at their best I think elspeth will be better.

Well, Nahiri is typically more suited to grabbing an Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. Nahiri in that sense is definitely more powerful, but Elspeth is okay too. I would personally go for Nahiri though

I think elspeth is better. Archangel of Thune is probably what you gonna fetch with her ult (since they return to your hand at end of turn). Sure Avacyn attacks once for 8 but that will be worse than Archangel of Thunes effect whenever you have a sister out.

If the best creature to fetch with Nahiris ulti cost 5, wouldn't it be better to just run another Archangel of Thune?

I play Soul Sisters myself, but a B/W version. Return to the Ranks is a card that is very nifty as a 1-of. I really recommend it. Mid to late game you can do crazy things if you have sisters and cats in your graveyard (and if you dont you should be ahead anyways). Remember, each creature returned with Return to the Ranks sees each other when ETB so returning only 2 sisters and a cat to an empty board will instantly make your cat 6/6. If you have any other sisters in play the cat gets even bigger.

Heres my deck, check it out if you want :). Dark sisters
