GUYS, b/c KTK never existed anymore since wibbly-wobbly time-wimey stuff happened, we shouldnt call anything "abzan" or "sultai" anymore.
the old names made more sense, so we can go back to them now!
HURRAY!
HolyFalcon says... #5
What are the names, oh yeah!
Mardu=Dega
Sultai=Bug
Temur=Rug
Abzan=Junk
Jeskai=?
Jeskai doesn't have a name. But I, Magicrafter, propose one.

The original associations were ana, dega, necra, Raka and ceta.

sigh
well, mtg was concieved in America.The 3 colors that have the most versitility are blue (counterspells, card draw, control, extra turns, flyers) white (anthems, voltron, spam, removal, and lifegain) and red (spam, aggro, burn, removal, flyers, and short-turn anthem). these 3 colors contain things that black and green do not, and still have the things that they focus on. This is similar to how most Americans act. either smart and thoughtful, aggresive and headstrong, or stupid, strong, but loyal.
in conclusion, the main argument for "America" being used for w/r/b is SUCK IT! WE ALWAYS WIN, WE MADE MAGIC, AND WE HAVE SO MUCH VALUE BRO!!!

And DERPLINGSUPREME demonstrates why the rest of the world has so much respect for 'Murica!
I'm also not sure I agree that red is one of the most versatile colours...if you mean short tempered and aggressive, sure that fits the bill. I saw something that suggested America has been involved in war for parts of 222 years since 1776. Not sure the source is credible but I laughed nonetheless.

Apart from the doctor who reference, this seems like a dumb idea. Also, by the same logic we should call Selesnya Dromoka, Dimir Silumgar, Gruul Atarka, Azorius Ojutai, and Rakdos Kologhan. Either way, it seems like waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much work.

jandrobard no. thats fucking stupid. I'm trying to say we go back to what it was first. selesnya was first, therefore, NO DROMOKA, DAMMIT!

But, if we go by time, then we should alternate between saying the old names (ana, raka, ceta, necra, dega), which are in reality, but are old, and the new (sultai, jeskai, temur, abzan, mardu), which are recent, but technically don't exist to this reality.
It's a compromise.
April 25, 2015 12:50 a.m.
VampireArmy says... #30
Also thought I'd mention the shards don't technically exist Anymore either yet we still use those names
April 25, 2015 12:52 a.m.
DERPLINGSUPREME says... #31
theoretically, but until the new names (sultai, mardu, etc) there were the old names, which made more sense and were more recognizeable. those were the names we used for so long, and we only changed b/c they made things in those colors. we were forced into using them b/c it was impossible to AVOID them.
THE OLD NAMES WERE BETTER

VampireArmy that was the first time we had a name for them, so thats what we use. the first name good, memorable we got.

now that I think about it, I dont think we'll ever go back. now that we have an unavoidable name for this stuff, we have to ecknowlage it.
and, as always, I'm watching you fap.
April 25, 2015 12:59 a.m.
Bow down to the Abzan overlords. You will address them by their rightful name and you will like it.

@vault what are you, a fanfiction?
wait a second....
What do you look like and what member on T/O do you like the most?
April 25, 2015 1:13 a.m.
I look like Garruk but I'm 6 feet instead of 27 or whatever he is. My favorite members are slovakattack and emask. And I guess lordkilljoy, as he's my best friend IRL. But he's not really active here that much. VampireArmy is somewhere in the top 5 as well.
I Despise most of the rest of you. I just never say it.

Servo_Token says... #38
Pretty sure that it's just pronounced "BlueWhiteRed".
Also, I concur with the whole 'ditch the new names' thing. However, any arguments for the old old names (raka and such) are null on the basis that those names are from a time before WotC knew how to make a proper card game.
April 25, 2015 1:21 a.m.
Serious about the Garruk thing too. My actual nickname is Baron Garruk von Appleseed the Pussyslayer. I apparently leave cat corpses in my wake. In Garruk's Wake.

@vault uuuuuummmm.....
how would you feel if I were to start clinging onto you?
on a not related note, have you ever met any girls with a MTG fetish that wanted you to dress up as garruk?
April 25, 2015 1:26 a.m.
If you did so, I would block you.
I have met a girl that wanted me to dress up as Garruk, but not as part of any fetish. Just for fun.
Fun.

now, when I said cling, what I actually mean is "one day, when I get bored, I will remember this and for about an hour follow you on a thread, more than once putting up pictures and just being, overall, creepy."
its normal.
April 25, 2015 1:34 a.m.
Just don't go overboard. If you start a cult around me, for example, I would block you. If your creeping is prolonged, I will block you. Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

wait, did you see my epoch cult?
no, I only did that to epoch. If you were to look at the newest J/c thread, you'll see that I just post things like things like this
while being my normal self with just a hint more of eroticism.
April 25, 2015 1:43 a.m.
I actually prefer the old names. The ones that predate the silly nicknames.
Instead of bug its Ana
Instead if junk its Necra ect.
April 25, 2015 2:52 a.m.
JexInfinite says... #49
Jeskai, Mardu and Abzan should exist as names, because we didn't have anything better before.
Sultai is frustrating to say compared to BUG, and Temur also sounds dumb.
BUG and RUG were better, and easier, names, but the others have caught on pretty well.
April 25, 2015 3:27 a.m.

What if they do exsist. FRF saw the clan names, and FRF still happened. So, this ENTIRE discussion is irrevelent.
