High Foil Mythic count in Modern Masters

Has anyone else noticed that boxes of Modern masters 2015 always seem to have foil mythic I opened 3 boxes and got 2 foil mythics? anyone else have this experience?

Not even close for me. I had two Mythics in my box, neither foil, one was Comet Storm :(

Also, 2/3 is hardly enough to draw a conclusion from. That's just luck. If it were 2000/3000, I'd say that's a decent conclusion.

I got all common foils in mine, but I had 1/2 packs be mythics.

weird as fuck.

I have also seen on YouTube people pulling foil mythics

I got 4 mythics (including one foil goyf), and 2 foil rares (Ghost Council, and Puppeteer Clique, and 2 foil uncommons Izzet Boilerworks and Dismember. So over all aside from the goyf, there was a higher count of higher (rare+) foils than in other sets. So between two Booster boxes and a few fat packs of non MMA sets which net totaled about 24 foils, only 1 was a rare out of the 24.

But also there are 24 foils (usually) in an MMA 20156 box so inherently there are higher counts of high end foils I would think.

With all this said I think that there are higher frequency of the high end foils in MMA because of my results with 24 other foils from different sets.

I think it's safe to say that 2 is just not enough of a sample size to get any info from.

Spootyone, two of what? Booster Boxes? Cause if you were talking to me, I just went by volume of 24 foils from non-MMA sets, and 24 foils from MMA which is the closest comparison I could draw in equating this to other sets.

you guys realize this is because of a foil in every pack right? the chances of pulling a foil are now 1:1, and the odds of pulling a foil of a certain card is (ideally) 1/249 (# of cards in set) so you have 36 chances with a 15/249 (14/249 excluding comet storm) chance to pull a foil mystic

Asher, I did a comparison between 24 foils from MMA 2015 and 24 Foils from a Non-MMA set (KtK if you must know), and wound up with more higher end cards in the MMA 24 than in the KTK 24.

So by doing this I completely eliminate the foil in every pack problem and use random chance over two similar sets of data there were as equal as possible by both being large sets and taking 24 foils from each.

Sorry, Coinman1863. That was a typo. I meant 3, and was referring to OP.

my sample size for myself was 2 out of 3 I have seen so far 14 boxes out of about 25 I have seen opened in person had foil mythics. I also have seen so many youtube videos aswell eg MTGHQ, MR LUBUFU, DARIUMS, ABSOLUTEMTG Etc etc

That's a little bit better of a sample size. However it is worth mentioning what Asher18 had to say in that having a foil in every pack drastically increases this chance. Anyone have any numbers on the original MMA pack openings? With how much time has passed with those being opened, I'm sure we could get a bigger picture on whether or not this is currently the norm.

Yeah, i'm going to go with the whole Foil in every pack means higher percentage of getting a good foil theory. We are used to seeing zero foil mythics because (made up ratios and numbers incoming) 1 in 10 packs of a normal set has a foil, and one in 8 of those foil packs has a mythic. Whereas MM packs all have a foil, so 10 out of 10, so with the same ratio of foil mythics (1 in 8), you'll see more foil mythics than you are used to. Remember, made up numbers for example only.

Now, I am still yet to see any foil mythics be pulled in person, and I've seen four boxes opened, so I guess you can add that to your sample size.
