Opalia, the Aviary Tactician

Legendary Creature - Sphinx Wizard

Flying

Whenever Opalia, the Aviary Tactician enters the battlefield, you may search your library for two creature cards with flying and put of them into your hand and the other into your graveyard then shuffle your library.

2/5

Is this balanced? It does give a lot of nice graveayrd shenanigans though. But it is in white blue so it's not that likely to be broken.

Why would tutor creatures to the graveyard?

Yeah, it just seems very out of color, more like a effect. Maybe just search for one and put it into your hand?

missing the "one" in your cards ability text

should give your opponent the choice, Distant Memories (without the exile) or Covenant of Minds upon etb (that way planning and tactics are needed when picking your flying friends?) (imagine if Emrakul, the Aeons Torn was legal)

Sphinx seem to (often) take card text and embody that knowledge, like Sphinx of Uthuun and Fact or Fiction, or Arjun, the Shifting Flame and Mindmoil

Feels more like an Esper card. I agree with the others in that sphinxes typically have effects that incorporate gathering knowledge and besting opponents directly. See: Alhammarret, High Arbiter, Isperia the Inscrutable, Sphinx of Jwar Isle, etc. In a sense, they're the perfect Blue creatures in terms of what they do and represent.

yea it does feel esper-y ... Isperia the Inscrutable already tutors for flying (in UW), i still like the very blue idea of tutor vs draw (like Distant Memories)

the other fun option could be

"Whenever Opalia, the Aviary Tactician enters the battlefield, you may search your library for two creature cards with flying, if you do, shuffle you library. Reveal them and have target opponent choose one, put that card into your hand and the other on the bottom of your library."
