Has anyone played Betrayal at House on the Hill?

This was my second time playing it tonight with my playgroup.
The game is also made by Wizards.
I really like it. The mechanic where one person gangs up on everyone else is fun.
Our Haunt tonight took place after only two Omen cards had been picked up. From memory only three players had taken a turn.
It was a very complex Haunt, but I guess Wizards likes complex games.
There is a such a multitude of scenarios, that no two hauntings will be alike. I enjoyed the game and played it when I saw it on Tabletop with Will Wheaton. It is complex, but rewarding and creates a lot of buzz around the table.

Definitely one of my favorite table top games! I have played it 10+ times and every game is different.

Vary fun game and I can't wait for another expansion to come out for the game.

It’s one of my personal favourite games! It’s fun, cooperative (right up until it is decidedly not), and easy-to-pick up even by people who don’t play “nerd games.”
Has anyone tried the Waterdeep (D&D city) version of the game? I have not yet, but it greatly interests me.

I thought it was okay. Very fun to play, but I have run into problems with insufficient directions. Especially with some of the haunts. Different people in the group interpreted the directions in different ways and this made it kind of fall apart a few times. Overall this left a sour taste in my mouth, but the game is cool in concept.

I've actually been Watching LoadingReadyRun play Betrayal Legacy as my winding down in the evenings. I have never played either Betrayal at House on the Hill or Betrayal Legacy, but they look super fun.

ToolmasterOfBrainerd we did have trouble tonight with one of the rules.
Turns out that we should have Googled it, as an explanation was available.
The trouble was that it was a rule that only the players could see, and I was the traitor. I'm usually the one in the group who thinks to Goggle rules.
It didn't really make that much difference to the outcome. Pretty sure they would have won either way.

Argy we did not think of that. I'll definitely have to try that next time.

Its a great game i have been playing it for years. One thing i would point out the rules are not written as well defined as MTG. Reed rules on when you can use weapons and what you can do with items in a turn carefully.

SP3CTR3_chelts from what I know you can use an item once per turn, but at any time on that turn.
Is that what you meant, or did you mean read the item cards carefully?

My memory is fuzzy as i have not been able to play it in a while.
I was more thinking of when you can use the item if you gained it on your turn (in general no)
also if i gained it in my turn can i use it on someone else (if the item allows).
If i used it on my turn can i use it on someone else (again if the item allows).
Another common point to remember is that weapons are used with attack rolls not combat rolls so you can only use weapons when attacking on your turn.

Thanks for all the info, SP3CTR3_chelts
It does clarify some things!

Betrayal is super fun! It's like horror-themed D&D but does all the creative legwork for you
